Seems Volumio is blocked from internet. If you have something like pi-hole in your network, configure it so access is granted.
i am connected via lan, i will check.
Please, what’s pi hole?
from my router page:
dhcpcd-7.1.0-x86_64
LAN
0 giorno 7 ora 48 minuto
Durata lease rimanente:Illimitata
Indirizzo MAC: 00:19:66:01:03:93
IPv4: 192.168.8.199
but i dont’s see blocks
OK, it seems others are helping with networking issues.
Let us check this.
When you open an ssh terminal and do
aplay -l
does it show something close to this
There was a report about missing “HDA Nvidia” support in the past, but the card profile never got implemented. We can revisit this issue if you could produce the output of aplay -l
it seems something is intermitted blocking your internet access between the Volumio-PC, router and internet, which is hard to debug remotely.
Can you try via a ssh connection to the Volumio PC, if you can generate a log with this command:
node /volumio/logsubmit.js
If it goes OK it will return an URL, please post it here.
If it fails what does the command ping logs.volumio.org
give you?
as old men often suggest, you get what you put in…

I bought a usb-to-tosslink cable via amazon, plugged and the usb dac option did appear.
And yes, you can connect to an old hifi to dat or cd via tosslink/fiber cable!
as for ssh,
volumio@volumio:~$ aplay -l

@Wheaten
volumio@volumio:~$ ping logs.volumio.org
ping: logs.volumio.org: System error
volumio@volumio:~$
and, when i start the ssh terminal:

volumio@volumio:~$ node /volumio/logsubmit.js

You need to resolve your internet problems first.
You can try to reset your router, experiment with a fixed ip. Unable to provide support this way.
@Wheaten most important: it works! i had a minor cable problem. Now it’s ok. Digital from usb, USB DAC in settings, DAT input in the old hifi stereo!
About the web: i already settled a fixed ip. The volumio pc is connected to a Devolo network expander via lan. I see the volumio pc in my router diagram.
I have no knolwedge to understand what a cable linked peripherals need to be connected, but the same Devolo base offer also wifi. So i can put a wifi usb key on the volumio pc, instead of the lan cable?
Wired is always preferred above wireless.
I have some Devolo expanders (internet over power line) on our holiday location, but it’s not very stable,
I get what you are saying but I am using a Intel NUC and have installed Volumio on the internal SSD. So, no windows environment to make the copy in. Are you saying that I cannot attach any external drive to the NUC and use the Volumio interface to copy files and or folders?
I know that most run Volumio on a USB stick or flash card but really would prefer to have it all on the internal drive.
Have also looked at trying to do it over the Network connection but same issue. Have not found a way to copy in Volumio. Hope I am mistaken or alternatively some add on exist that can do so.
Thx
@Wheaten @gkkpch
i got it!!!
a wrong setting in “gateway” and the lan was out of service.
Now i see plugins market and so on. Thanks a lot!!

log report:
Thanks for this, for the Nvidia soundcard there is nothing we need to add. It only links to the analog Realtek ALC888 soundcard, there are no HDMI audio or other audio subdevices.
Quite an old PC you have there, but nice that it now works
Hello everyone, I need your help. (I am writing via Google Translate). I have an old but advanced Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook P1620 laptop and I managed to run Volumio-2 on it, everything works fine on the laptop screen I see the graphical interface and even the touch screen works. But when I try to install Volumio-3 on this laptop I do not see the graphical interface, I only see the Volumio command line with a password, although Volumio-3 works fine through the browser of another computer, but I really want to use Volumio-3 through the screen of my laptop. Tell me, what could I do to activate the screen on the laptop with Volumio-3?

Please provide the info as requested in the opening post.
@Rost_K
No need for a log, the Fujitsu LifeBook P1620 has an Intel 945GSM graphics chip. This hardware only supports OpenGL 1.4 for rendering 2D and 3D graphics, which worked fine with Volumio 2, running on Debian Jessie.
However, Volumio 3 runs on Debian Buster, which needs OpenGL 2.1
Therefore nothing can be done
