This setup has the Pro-ject Pre-Box S2 Digital
I am able to reproduce. Skipping back and forward goes OK, but if you skip fast to the next track (3-4 times) and then skip back, Tidal Connect breaks, Volumio won’t respond and the Tidal app shows a yellow spinning pause thingy.

Just to let you know that we are aware of this issue and we have been working closely with TIDAL to get this solved. We now have a solution that we are testing internally.

As mentioned previously, I’ve managed to reproduce this error that results in the red “failed to open ALSA device” dialogue box using:
- DACs
- External: USB iFi Zen Dac V2 & V2 Signature with XMOS 216 and DSD1793 chips
- Internal / I2S Hat: Innomaker Dac Pro hat with ES9038Q2M chip; IQAudio DAC Pro with PCM5242 chip.
- System:
- Different RPi 4B 8gb systems
- Volumio OS from 3.569 until the latest v.3.631
- Android, iOS, & desktop clients

My issue here is when use Tidal connect on Samsung s21 on volumio primo hifi edition
Start a album and listen to it. When the phone screen turn off the music/tracks are playing but when open the screen the Tidal app still shows the 1-2 track on the album on the screen but track 3-4 or 5 are playing. So its seems like Tidal connect dont sync with volumio. I even set the Tidal app to be active in background when phone screen off same issue.
I i wont to sync tidal connect have to deactivate Tidal connect and then activate but than the track where it lost the sync will play e.g track 1 or 2 on a album.
I was testing out my own library only the other day and had no issues at all, so is definitely something wrong with Tidal Connect. Anyway it sounds like the Dev’s know about it and are onto it :). Playback would stop after 3 - 5 tracks, and doesn’t like going back a track, intermittently but reproducible.
RPi4 4GB, ADI 2 FS. Happens from any source (pixel 8 or PC App).
Seems to be mostly the app when I’m using tidal connect from the phone app (Android).
It’s a good thing I have coax in (Yamaha YBA-11 Bluetooth adaptor), could never sell that but tops out at 48kHz. Still almost cd quality hopefully).
It’s also a good thing I’ve got a Chromecast Audio in my optical input. Plenty of options when things fk up. No gapless but works always.
Updated to 3.649 today and noticed “various Tidal Connect fixes” in the change log. Hammered it pretty hard with track forward/back, changing album etc etc and haven’t been able to break it. I’m running out of time here tonight but will do more testing tomorrow. Could this maybe be fixed!? Wow!

Also, I am on version 3.631 and Volumio says I am already up2date 
v3.649 is an alpha test release. If you want to take the risk, enable test mode via yourvolumioipaddress/dev.
Probably the stable release will follow in a few days.
Ah, sorry. Didnt saw that it was an alpha release. Not sure if I want to take the risk. Let’s see how annoying the problems are today. Maybe I will take the risk then 
Besides that, still the question were I can find the official changelog?

He used a TEST build, not yet released, that’s why its not in the changelog
I am well aware of what a Test / Alpha build is. It was simply not clear for me from his post.
And looks like I was a little blind when I searched for the changelog.

Still seems pretty rock solid for me. Not sure if it’s my imagination but skipping tracks also seems faster now.
What are you using Instead, native tidal connect?
Shame. Was about to say the latest update (yesterday)l was good but can’t handle doing a seek back a song or two
May just downloaded everything for offline and play own collection or Bluetooth. Shame bloody Room is ridiculously expensive.
