label the hdd as issd
tried to label it issd, formatted fat32, but they are not seen anyway, other options? Thank you
You can take a look at topic DEV: [PLUGIN] MPD_OLED for x86 based systems
here we played around to get i2c running on a x86 for mdp_oled.
one of these should do the trick:
What are the minimum CPU and memory requirements for volumio? One of my tablets has 2 GB memories and a CPU Z3740, but it seems that there is a lag in the operation, which affects the sound quality of the treble part. However, the same DAC will not have such a problem when placed on a laptop with I5 5200 8G memory.
How did you install volumio on a tablet?
The new version of volumio generally supports it, but some functions don’t work. In my case, I can’t shut down or restart it, I can only force it to shut down. I think the power driver is wrong.Tablets have advantages and disadvantages. They perfectly support touch screens. However, tablets generally only have one Android USB port. Charging and connecting to the DAC are both in the same USB port, making it inconvenient to use.
In addition to this and the above mentioned, there will be lags during use, which affects the sound quality. I don’t know if it is because the CPU Z3740 and 2GB memory are not enough.
I expect that when you turn off spectrum, the sound will be better. A tablet with the a 3740 has about the performance of a rpi3, without almost no video support.
For some reason I cannot create a proper boot usbstick that works on my older mainboard. The mainboard does not recognise the usbstick as een boot device. Tried Belena, Rufus and other utilities, no luck.
Is there another way to install Volumio on the SSD, maybe copy directly to the SSD?
you can indeed take the SSD out and flash it like it’s an USB device.
I tried that but I does not see it as a bootable device?
Please read the opening post from this topic and provide requested information.
I have installed Volumio on a 2009 Mac Mini. All is working well except playing from the internal CD drive. I insert the disk and it spins, but never starts playing. I also do not see CD in the sources list. Any help would be appreciated.

Prob. just asking the obvious, you have a paid subscription?
I presume (I dare not ask) you flashed the unzipped image file, not the zip file itself.
With older main boards you may have to go into the BIOS and enable USB Legacy boot.
As for the SSD, without more info about the main board it is very difficult to just guess what your problem could be. I expect a BIOS setup issue in case the image was flashed correctly.
I do

@tity67a Please provide a log so we can see what happens when loading the driver.
Remember, this is 16-year old hardware according to the BIOS, if we can help with supplying additional firmware, then there is hope.
In case of a driver issue, you will be out of luck I’m afraid.
@gkkpch Done! Thanks for info!
