Volumio 4 Feedback Thread

Volumio 4 is here.

This is the official thread for feedback, bug reports, questions, and discussion about Volumio 4.067 and future 4.x releases.

What we need from you:

If you run into issues, please share details. System info, logs, what you were doing when it happened, what you expected vs what actually happened. The more specific you are, the faster we can track it down.

If something works better than it used to, let us know that too. Positive feedback helps us understand what’s working.

If you have questions about features, migration, or anything else, ask here. If we don’t know the answer, someone in the community probably does.

A few reminders:

This is a major release built on a completely new foundation. There will be edge cases we didn’t catch. That’s normal. We’ll fix them.

Plugins are all available at launch, but if you’re using something custom or third party, give it a test and report back.

Remember that this requires a reflash from Volumio 3. No over the air updates this time.

What’s next:

We’ll be monitoring this thread closely. Bug fixes and improvements will come in point releases as we identify issues and opportunities.

The foundation is built. Now we can start adding the features we’ve been wanting to build for years.

Let’s make Volumio 4 even better together!

Dear Volumionauts,

How to report a problem

We need clear, complete, and specific information to help you. We do not have a crystal ball.

When reporting bugs, always include:

  • Your device model, storage type (SD, SSD, etc.), and Volumio version
  • A log link from your device (see: How to send a log link for a bug report? )
  • A clear explanation of the issue: what happened, what you expected, and how to reproduce it

If your report involves hardware, include:

  • Full identification of the device:

    • Datasheet, product page, or supplier/manufacturer link
    • Photos of the hardware (top and bottom), clearly showing PCB silkscreen markings, version numbers, and labels
  • What is connected to what, and how (USB hub, GPIO pins, power source, etc.)

Kind Regards,

A post was merged into an existing topic: Problems with TIDAL Integration - stops working when idle

I don’t think this is a V4 problem, but I am having a difficult time getting my wireless back to working. All was well until yesterday when I had a crash.
I prepared a fresh sd card v4 install. I boot it up using the wired network, then configure my wireless network. Unplug the wired connection and generally it will boot using the wireless network.
Not so today. just keeps going back to the hotspot. txs

When will the new Volumio be available on Rivo+?

Please read the 3rd topic, what is required from you, so we can support you.

Q1 2026. This is to ensure you guys on Volumio Products will have 0 problems with it.

It makes sense

I am so confused. I tried the 4.066 which was an absolute train wreck. Updated to 4.067 which didn’t solve any of the problems of 4.066. Came here to get the latest stable release and it is 4.067 released on 8-25??? Going to image a fresh card to see if that helps.

I installed 4.067 on 2 RP3s and a 4 and all are having the same issues. The local library and internal Tidal interface show nada. If I log out of Tidal and log back in it works for a little while, but quickly craps out again. Literally the only thing that still works is Tidal Connect and that just died while I was typing this. Hopefully the clean image works or I’m going to have to hunt down an a 3x image on the internet,

Not the best way of asking for help. See above on how to post a log. 4.016 was not a train wreck, it worked very well. The Tidal issue is nothing to do with the new version of Volumio, it’s affecting v3 as well. It’s frustrating, but Volumio and Tidal are busy working on it.

Hey @jocoman,

Kind Regards,

Hey @thisisjay,

The Volumio v4.067 has been released on 8th of November 2025.

I think you missed this:

Kind Regards,

I would like to help you debug. So first and foremoat is it a v4 issue or my procedural problem? I want to go back to V3.832 which I know works to ensure they way I get wireless going is legit. (i can’t seem to find any procedures that tell me how to do that but I know what worked in the past). So do you have a link to V3.832 for example. I can’t find it.

https://updates.volumio.org/pi/volumio/3.832/Volumio-3.832-2025-07-26-pi.zip (for pi)

Just reading the blog post for Volumio 4 (here, as it doesn’t seem to be linked above).

Sad to see that Pi Zero is no longer supported, as 2 out of 3 of my systems are based on Pi0W/Pi02W. So I now have the decision of whether to get some new hardware or just keep V3 running, as it does me fine for my needs (but of course won’t get security updates etc).

Just wish it wasn’t so, but if the binaries are missing then I guess it is what it is.
It may be worth making the Pi hardware requirements a little more obvious on the web page though, rather than just buried at the bottom of that blog post?

If nothing else though, I wish you all the best of luck with V4.

the Pi0W-2 is supported by Volumio4

Excellent news, thanks for that clarification.

The blog doesn’t make that very clear…

Second, we had to make a difficult call. Raspberry Pi 1 and Raspberry Pi Zero are no longer supported.

OK tkcs. works on v3 so its a v4 issue. I’ll collect all the logs and send shortly. Basically wifi seems messed up. maybe my country code is missing? i.e. CA
was working on previous v4 release
