If my issue is picked up by fornoth (propagate progression) we can fix the playing time being displayed correctly. Now if you pause the timer restarts, same as with Airplay. For Airplay I think I can fix it, but for spotify-web-connect we need to have someone expose this in the metadata (which is beyond me, I really don’t get rust). 
Happy to wait though, still working on a rework of the LCD plugin, wasn’t happy with using scripts that are in no way linked to Volumio.

In the meantime i used volspotconnect2 which also worked great!
But now with Album Art volspotconnect is the 1st choice

@balbuze, with what version of Volumio is the operation of volsimpleequal + volspotconnect tested?
With version 2.285 in Rasp 3 + Allo Boss, volsimpleequal works the first time and when restarting stops doing it. With version 2.246 volsimpleequal has the same problem.
I have to try volspotconnect well.

@balbuze, volspotconnect in Volumio 2.285, Rasp 3 and Allo Boss has problems with the volume, it connects correctly, it is well visualized in Playback, but it makes a very strong click at the beginning, the volume starts at a very high level, it does not correspond the one configured in Volumio.
Can it be a problem with the mixer setting, exactly how do I have it set?

I have no sound with “Spotify connect”.
It 's the first time I use it.
I installed the “Spotify connect” plugins volspotconnect.zip ver 1.6.4
Installation worked fine…
Volumio player is seen by Spotify App(Windows Spotify App or my android smartphone App). So I can select music and select volumio player to play it.
Music starts on Volumio player (I see the album cover, “volspotconnect” tag and time counter runs…), but no sound.
If i play a song from my local usb library or web radio, no problem.
I use an RPI3 with the last Volumio Release (2.310) and an IQaudio Dac plus as output device

I have the exact same problem.
Just reinstalled with latest Volumio Version (2.310) and volspotconnect 1.6.4
I am using the Allo Piano DAC.
It used to work perfectly until i upgraded Volumio because i would get static cracking.
Now there is no sound anymore, but sounds works perfectly when playing from Volumio.
If someone could help, it would be greatly appreciated !

Since several release of volumio, we encounter problems with plugins that needs to access the output device. Most of the time it is due to a “device or resource busy”. I suspect that a change in the kernel and thus alsa is in cause. But I still haven’t found a solution… I’m working on this, and any suggestions are welcome…

edit: it seems to be working at first but the volumio clients keep dissapearing from the spotify player (android and windows)
I’m on 2.310 with the new plugin and an IQAudio DAC+ but I still don’t have any sound. No obvious errors in the Volumio log file.
Could you please check if you have a /etc/asound.conf and post its content.
Check if /home/volumio/asoundrc exists and it’s content.
This version can’t work with softvol or equalizer.

My volumio instance doesn’t have /etc/asound.conf or /home/volumio/asoundrc files.
