Spotify Connect

Hi,

It’s inactive and nothing see it. If v2 320 and v1 is only 160 I don’t try to fix it v2 is perfect for me. :smiley:

Hi guys, i have same problem with empty amixer and commented lines in both files (although i needed to comment a bit more as it seems more lines involved mixer) especially these lines are bothering

#volume_range = (mixer.getrange()[1]-mixer.getrange()[0]) / 100 volume_range = 1

so the problem that spotify connects well. i can play music, but I cannot control volume of it neither through spotify nor through RPI interface. Its always full

./spotify-connect-web --bitrate 320 --username DAUSER --password 123456 --playback_device hw:0

Maybe any ideas how to solve it?

@balbuze

volspotconnect2 suddenly stopped working, without doing any update to either Volumio or the plugin.

I can see “Volumio Spotify connect” as a device in my Spotify app, but when I select it as speaker it stays at “connecting” for 5-10 seconds and then goes back to normal sound.

-> Reinstalled volspotconnect
-> Disabled / enabled plugin a few times
-> Restarted volumio a few times, etc.
-> My Spotify app can connect to other Spotify Connect speakers in my house without trouble so it must be something with Volspotconnect. Airplay works fine with Volumio and Spotify, it is only the issue with Spotify Connect through volspotconnect

Like I said, it can see “Volumio Spotify Connect” as a device, but it cannot connect to it. The same from another phone in my house, which can also connect to other Spotify Connect speakers without issue but not to Volumio.

Any idea of what I can check?

I have the same problem.
Tried to start spotify connect from computer/ipad/android device with no success.
Did fresh volumio install, but nothing seems to work. Connect works from ipad->computer and so on, but wont connect with my volumio device.

Bad news… The problem comes from Spotify that seems to block librespot now. A workaround is in test by the dev of librespot. But nobody knows how many time it will work before next blocking… Just hope a long term solution will be find. More info here :

Interesting - thanks for the explanation!

Will you add the temporary fix into your volspotconnect package for now? github.com/plietar/librespot/co … c9b1ca7341

Or rather wait?

As soon as I am back home, I will compile it, at least for armv7. Maybe tomorrow or later in the week…

A new version of the plugin is available.
It fixes (temporary) the problem of connection met these last days.
It only for x86 and armv7 (armv6 will come).
Hope it will last…

Thanks @balbuze!..works for me now, hopefully there will be a permanent fix and will Spotify grant access again soon…

Yes, thanks for getting a fix for this so quickly. Awesome work Balbuze! All working sweetly again.

@balbuze, work fine now.
Something that is not clear to me, with volspotconnect, spotify works on 320K?
Regard

Daniel

Thank you so much @balbuze and everyone at librespot for coming to the rescue. Really glad Spotify Connect is back in action on my Volumio!

EDIT:
NVM!
Did a fresh install of Volumio and now it´s working!
Tried spotify connect today, but its acting wierd. For the music to start playing, i need to first hit play on my phone, THEN, connect to volumio. Also, i can change track but not pause/unpause. Why is this?
Hi guys & gals,

I can’t seem to get Spotify connect working. I’m using a pi3 and I’ve only just installed Volumio. Would anyone be able to help me troubleshoot?

Is there an issue with librespot?

Cheers,
SF

Steps before using volspotconnect and volspotconnect2

  • having a working version of volumio with DAC and network well configured. It can’t work using hotspot.
  • having a premium account.
    Then install the plugin and enable it. With volspotconnect you have to enter your credentials.
    That should be ok with that.

Awesome, thanks! Installing the right plugin usually helps… Thanks for the tips!

ODROID C2 with HiFiShield+ volspotconnect2 == WORKING :slight_smile:
Downloaded, added, activated => PLAY ! And that is it :slight_smile:
User interface does not show that spotify is playing … but who cares :slight_smile:

I have one word : N I C E.

Thank You !!

HI,
Great new today ! The first version voslpotconnect with webUI integration!!! :smiley:
Thanks to the hard work of ashthespy, it is now done!
There is still some small bugs (button are not working, volume display not updated) but you’ll see album art, title, artist, album
And other fix (the plugin was not working with last version of volumio)
Feedback welcome!
It is here : github.com/balbuze/volumio-plug … onnect.zip

Hello balbuze, uninstall volspotconnect2 and installed the new volspotconnect and now I do not see from the Spotify app the Volumio device.
I run Volumio 2.246, work only on the Volumio last version?
Any ideas?
Regards

Remembering … volspotconnect never worked on my system, only volspotconnect2 worked.
To see if I understand well … with volspotconnect2 enabled in Volumio, I open the Spotify app on my PC or phone and I can see as a device available to play “Volumio Spotify Connect”, I connect and it works correctly.
Should volspotconnect be the same? I do not see Volumio as a possible device to play.
