I tried some options by editing the startup string but I can’t get it to work (the errors suggest I still set the mixer incorrect. Do you have a suggestion on how to set the parameters? This is my aplay -L output:

yes I know the problem hw:plughw … it is corrected… For the mixer, in your case, a software mixer is coming in Volumio (it’s because it does not work).
The plugin updates startconnect.sh each time it start and each time you change mixer, output, name…
Unless modifing index.js there in no way to avoid it (I design the plugin to do that)…
I installed the 1 october version plugin (fresh install volumio 0.979), but unfortunately still no spotify connect option in the official spotify app. This is with the output device set to HiFiBerry Digi. When I switch back to HDMI / Audio, the spotify connect option appears directly in my spotify app.
@balbuze: one of the plugin versions however worked with Hifiberry DAC+ and had working digital mixer/volume control. I will try to see if I still have the SD with this working version to find the working settings.
Edit: unfortunately I don’t have the working version anymore
1.Formated the SD-card and installed the img.
2. Started volumio and changed to my DAC
3. restaterd ( I can hear the startup sound)
4. Installed volspotconnect.zip under plugin -> upload plugin.
Same error:
[code]The folowing error occurred when installing the plugin: Error
hi!
I uploaded a new version today. I test it with iqaudio dac and it works. It should work with hifiberry +. But you have to save output device and mixer before it starts. An other thing, the installation fails the two first time and works (for me) the third time, but it’s long (15min). Weird…
For digi+ I have a idea to make it work…
And don’t forget it is still under dev! So test it if you want, comment to help, but it may not work… https://github.com/balbuze/volumio-plugins/blob/master/plugins/music_service/volspotconnect/volspotconnect.zip
What do you mean with “save output and mixer before it starts” ? If I change my output to hdmi I can see volumio in spotify so you where right, not a problem with my credentials. But when I change it back it disappears
What I want so say it that you have to go in playback option and select right output, save and below select good mixer and save. But you may don’t need it…
I figured out that you get problems installing when there is a space in the name of the zip(for example if you download it multiple times and Windows changes the name to “volspotconnect (1).zip”) if you name it “volspotconnect(1).zip” installation works without any problems
@flatric : thank you for your tip. It may be a problem in your case, but I never download the plugin… I use the version in my dev folder on my laptop… But most important, does it work for you ?
@jonaz18z : first of all, I’m happy it works for you ! You are right for the volume. There is no direct link between volumio and the way the plugin manages volume. But if you want to test this :
edit
nano /data/plugins/music_service/volspotconnect/volspotconnect.tmpl
and remove
--dbrange 45
save
and save settings in Spotify connect plugin.
let me know!
Did that saved and saved plugin settings, restarted too. I maybe the curve is different but still the 0 starts att 50%
When I change the volume on webinterface something strange going on example
Set the volume at 75% in spotify and the volumio volume is 51 of 100. change to 50 in volumio and the audio much higher and set it back to 51 and the volume is not the same as before. The controller in volumio web interface is more correct the spotify control is wrong…
Thanks for your great work again. Just tested with my HiFiBerry Digi, but no succes No mixer visible when set to HiFiBerry output device, and no Spotify connect option in official Spotify app. When switch back to HDMI output, no problems.
Tested with clean install Volumio 0.979 and your updated plugin from 2 hours ago.
I’m sorry but still not working (last time it worked if I switch to hdmi output but that isn’t working for me anymore too:/
Edit: After I uninstalled your plugin my “normal” spotify plugin isn’t working anymore too… it says active but can’t access my playlists. Maybe it’s helpfull that the spotify plugin was gone as I removed your plugin in the plugins.json.
I get the error “failed to open audio output”
@cornelam the plugin won’t add a mixer. As I haven’t a digi I can’t test… save the field with mixer even if enpty. Could you give the content of /data/plugins/music _service/volspoconnect/spotify-connect-web/startconnect.sh. please remove your credentials … @flatric. There is no relation between plugin. So remove one shouldn’t impact other…
Yes I think I destroyed my plugin.json because I deleted one “}” too much… If I delete it will volumio automatically create a new one with all the pre-installed plugins like airplay? Maybe your current version would work but I’m not able to play any music because of the error from above (even music on my NAS is not playable) and if I save output settings the NAS shown anymore
