i did already a complete fresh install with newest Volumio2 and the latest volspotconnect and volspotconnect2.
I wiped the sdcard completly before. Both volspotconnect and volspotconnect2 are in status inactive after install and setup. At the moment i have no idea what i could do or try.
Are there log files where i can look in? Any hint?

now i am back on Volumio Version 2.041 (this was my Version before i did the upgrade…).
I am happy volspotconnect is working again

Sorry for the late response. I’m really surprise because I made a fresh install on Rpi2 and installed volspotconnect 2 with no problem. So I don’t understand what happens in your case. I need to made some test with other device.

I don’t think the problem is coming from the fact you use a rpi3 because some other users report having it working… But the fact is that it is not working…
The very weird thing is with volspotconnect2… If you 're doing other test let me know…
p.s You can check if the service is running with the command “systemctl status volspotconnect2”

Do you simultaneously use several plugins or is volspotconnect the only 3rdParty plugin?
There are indeed some plugin start issues currently, but it might be shared responsibility of Volumio’s pluginmanager & various plugins…
It’s a bit hard to debug, and there is some work in progress on pluginmanager-side of things.
In some case while volspotconnect is shown as “inactive”, it still works…
Since two days we have big problems using Volspotconnect2. Only one device can connect once, no other devices can connect and a reconnect from the first device is not possible. The iPhone 6 from my wife does not get any connection anymore. Very strange!
I tried a complete reinstall of Volumio and Volspotconnect. But still the same problems.
Maybe any changes from Spotify regarding the connect methods/protocol (is it a protocol)?
How can we debug this problem?

@macmpi: i only use one plugin. And tried this always with a clean fresh installed Version of Volumio2
It was always inactive and not working.

Both plugins (volspotconnect and volspotconnect2) never came in status active with the newest Volumio2 Version.
With a fresh install of Volumio2 Version 2.041 Volspotconnect immediatly was active.
I leave my hands now of from this working one. I dont want to go through this hell again!!
So at this moment i dont tried volspotconnect2 on V.2041 I will do further test when i receive my spare micro SD Card…

I will try to install an older version with Volspotconnect2 today. Maybe it fixes my connection problems.

I have the same issue, i cannnot establish a connection anymore, it seems Spotify changed something on their backend this weekend, the maintainer of librespot has just released a new version, once it is added to volspostconnect2 i hope it will be fixed.

i did some test to figure the problems…
Volspotconnect2 gets active but is not working with every Version of Volumio2 i have.
I have tried to connect via iPhone 7
The last Version volspotconnect is working good is 2.041. The problem with later Versions
is related somewhere to the mixer i think.
Perhaps my China Clone Pifi has here a different behaviour than the orig. Hifiberry DAC+
If i switch to no DAC -> Sound from Pi Jack, volspotconnect gets active and is working.
For me is at the moment, the only soluton to get a working setup staying at 2.041.
I downloaded it (a lttle trying with the name :mrgreen: ) from:

Connect tried with Samsung S6+ Edge and iPhone 7 and latest Spotify Version
Do you have an idea why volspotconnect isnt working with my Raspi 3 and PIFI (Hifiberry DAC+ Clone)?

I can see there is an update on the cards.
I have a raspberry pi 2 i think with the hifiberry dac.
do I need to wait for an update?
The new version is available for any device supported by volumio. It includes a version of librespot that solvessome problem in the protocol to communicate with Spotify. It should be applied if the plugin stops to work.
I tried to install the one above, but had issues. My volumio box has died at the moment. Will try again when I can salvage it
