Specs for creating a VU Meter

Hi out there !
As a beginner (in use of community too) I get lost in all that Informations, Soft- and Hardware Options and for me unknown Codelines.
Oh, before I start. I apologise for my bad English.
I want to create a case with a display to show a VU-Meter in a high resolution, without disturbing the original music signal (See example as shown in the attached foto).
I’m afraid of buying stuff and later on it’s wrong because the display has the wrong resolution or the raspberry (there are different versions ?) has the wrong In- or Outputs and so on. In other words, the system doesn’t match together.
So I hope you guys can help me with some specs for the display, the raspberry, power supply, cables, etc. to match a working system. That will help me search and choose the correct stuff.
My system yet:

  • Tidal high res account
  • Bluesound Node N130
  • mini dsp 2x4 HD
  • Stereo-Amplifier and Receiver for 2.1 System

I hope, I place my topic at the right place and you guys can help me start my project.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me :wink:.

No need to complicate things, keep it simple!
Download Peppy_Meter (see first photo) or PeppyMeterBasic (second photo).
