@patrickkfkan wouldn’t it be easier to implement something like a simple browser in volumio, instead of fighting with Google changes, trying to keep the plugin running?
I haven’t been programming for years, so I may not be grasping something, but this seems like a much easier and more efficient solution. Especially in terms of maintenance.

The proper and recommended by google way is to use OAuth 2.0.

The plugin makes me mad. Everything seems to be working, I can see the history in my YouTubeMusic account (that implies correct linkage), I can see no error in the log file, yet I see this nasty 403 on Volumio. Any help would be appreciated. Happy to provide info

temporary solution to use youtube: use volumio with hdmi tv & keyboard + mouse (air mouse).

stop playing music in volumio
Ctrl + T (new tab)
Go to: music.youtube.com to play any music
Turn off by: Ctrl + W

(change tabs: Ctrl + Tab)

the plugin depends on youtbe.js, they fixed this bug already two weeks ago.

Indeed, it would be nice if someone could explain how to update. Is it part of the System or Plugin? I‘m using the newest available version of both, 3.808 and 1.3.1, respectively. Thanks a lot.

I don’t think this is a user upgrade. It’s more for the programmer of the plugin.

Please be patient, Patrick is very busy and always fixes it, until YT change things again.
