1920x1080_g5_712_Cassette‘s meters.txt includes the theme from the May update.
For the “165G5 BASF” theme, the foreground image was cropped because the music icon’s repositioned location caused it to be obscured by the foreground graphic.
Some images have also undergone retouching, though there may still be minor localized imperfections.

The primary focus was on the placement of music format icons and the bitrate display to ensure a complete, aesthetically pleasing look, with more balanced font sizes. Adjustments to the album titles also contribute to a more symmetrical and attractive appearance.
You can use a file comparison tool like Beyond Compare on meters.txt to view the specific changes; this allows you to instantly see exactly which topics were modified, making it easier for you to focus your review within peppy_screensaver or peppy_remote.

By the way, this is a personal preference of mine. If the two discs were exactly identical, they would look somewhat artificial rather than authentic. So, I rotated one of them by 90 degrees. This isn’t the focal point I’ve fine-tuned, though.
The text on the AKAI-747 was too small and not prominent enough, so I filled it back in.
The text in red indicates that these are actual photos of the AKAI GX-747.

There is currently an issue with the “193G5_03_TechDas” theme in peppy_remote; the arc progress bar may be conflicting with the scrolling text. Could you take a look when you have time and see if it can be resolved? It works correctly in peppy_screensaver.

I don’t mean direction, but adaptive spool speeds.
Oh, I actually haven’t used that; my computer runs very smoothly and the visuals look great, so I never really paid attention to it.

Release 3.4.4 - “Visual Gremlins Repellent.”
@Gelo5 continued to dream with the intensity of a man who refuses to be discharged, and the head physician continued to fill prescriptions from a recovery ward in a completely different clinic. The arrangement works surprisingly well. One files detailed reports, the other dispenses fixes from a hospital bed. Modern medicine.
@Gelo5 and @Wheaten spent considerable time behind closed doors running debugging sessions and patiently testing, testing, and then testing some more. @Lee.Yan chased the remote spectrum bins bug with the tenacity of someone who refuses to accept that random mode and working spectrum are mutually exclusive concepts. He was right. They were not.
What landed:
Arc rendering - progress and volume arcs no longer look like they were drawn by a printer running out of ink. Solid fill replaces the pygame stipple, and a 4x LANCZOS anti-alias pass smooths the rims so they actually look like arcs instead of angry staircases.
Repeat infinity - Volumio cycles repeat through off, all, single, and infinity. Peppy previously mapped infinity onto the shuffle indicator, so cycling repeat lit up shuffle like a confused Christmas tree. A 4th repeat state now exists for skins that provide it, fully backward compatible for those that do not.
Ghost exorcism - the repeat “1” badge lingered on screen in basic handler after switching away from repeat-single. Icon and LED state indicators now restore from clean background before repainting. The ghost has been shown the door.
Format type display - new playinfo.type.mode control lets skins show the format as icon, text, or both, with per-skin override via meters.txt and a global default in plugin settings. Text mode no longer requires the 1,1 dimension workaround.
Skin author keys - playinfo.align (left/center/right), folderlayer border support, progress fill parity with volume including fill.radius for rounded bar ends, per-skin format icon overrides in PNG or SVG, album-folder images on cassette reels, and optional unlimited fanart images per artist with an appropriately alarming crash warning.
Remote spectrum - random and list mode no longer falls back to the host pipe. A spectrum factory recreates RemoteSpectrumOutput on each rotation. New always-stream toggle under Remote Display Server for setups where host and remote run different skins. Handler sync now verifies post-sync hashes and prints a loud warning if anything is stale.
Housekeeping - uninstall cleans up leftover git clones from older installs. Overlay folder logos clear properly on track change.
Get it: git pull origin main on both repos, or tag 3.4.4. Screensaver and remote are footlocked as usual. Remote clients need a reinstall to pick up the new handler (volumio_typeformat.py). Experimental has been reset for the next cycle.
