Hi,

I’m not sure what can cause this issue. It would be helpful to observe a CPU and memory usage when it happens.

I see that the cpu usage increase to 100% during spectrum stop … when decrease below 100 also the spectrum starts …

During 100% CPU consumption , Spectrum bars are paused, music continue playing . After 5 to 10 seconds the CPU consumption decrease and then bars are shown again

ok I catch +100% CPU when it hangs.
In my case camilladsp report the following

2024-05-10 09:33:00.244648 WARN  [src/alsadevice.rs:213] Retrying playback, error: ALSA function 'snd_pcm_writei' failed with error 'EPIPE: Broken pipe'

Edit this message seems not related to the issue we are talking about. But happens even wihout using mpd, in that case with snapcast playing

It looks like the program cannot read the data for 99 bands fast enough. Try to play with this parameter:

Try to set it to different values (0.03, 0.02 etc) and see if it helps.

And I remember having the same thing with meters too. Needles stop few seconds and then restart.

Hi, have a look at

/data/plugins/user_interface/peppyspectrum/config.txt.tmpl

And save a setting in the plugin.
But I tested… with no results for the issue. But a big impact on CPU load and aspect…

I am not sure to understand how to use the download spectrum packet; I assume ita llows to dowload the Zip file of th spectrum UI. select file list box is empty.

How to proceed ?

Update the list. Then choose a placket to download.
Once it’s done, select it in the top section.

Restart the device was necessary to take in account the list.

Once a file selected, downloaded then use, it works. If we change the spectrum folder for a new one. RPI is locked, somùetimes reboot is requested.

It would be great to have the ability to clean the lst of file we have previously uploaded, after many tests,this would make sense to clean up.

Something seems wrong on your system. I never had to reboot or see it frozen du to spectrum change.
But if numbers of bands change, playback stop and you have to reselect from the queue.
To remove items (folder), use your file explorer form your computer or smartphone (with smb client) and browse to /data/INTERNAL/PeppySpectrum/Templates/ This a shared folder of Volumio.

But i don’t understand why to me doesn’t function.
1 Fresh volumio installation.
2 Touch display
3 Peppyspectrum
4 Spotify connect
I use all sources Nas, webradio spotify connect but peppyspectrum doesn’t start.
Where is my mistake?
