PeppySpectrum - The plugin!

@Naveen
Download this file. Unpack on your computer.
Use Fillezila to move the entire unpacked folder (Gelo5 (1280x400x30)) to:
/data/INTERNAL/PeppySpectrum/Templates

Gelo5 (1280x400x30).zip (6.9 MB)

Okay. Without a doubt, I will follow your advice and let you know how it goes. Thank you

Hi…kindly check if the procedure I followed, which is shown below, is correct.

  1. Downloaded the peppy screen saver plugin
    Gelo5 (1280x400x30).zip
  2. Unpacked the zip file to desktop.
  3. SSH test mode (volumio.local/dev)
  4. Used Fillezila to move the entire unpacked folder (Gelo5 (1280x400x30)) to:
    /data/INTERNAL/PeppySpectrum/Templates

Is there anything else I should do after completing all of this steps ?

John

These are skins, not a plugin.
You install the plugin from the plugin store (User interface)

(after running the plugin test mode - not via SSH, but in the browser on your computer - point 3 ).

Then turn on the plugin, set 1 skin and see how it works.

Turn off the Peppymeter during this time.

Where in the volumio interface is the peppy spectrum plugin? Please allow me to clarify; I’m asking because I don’t know a lot about this. I sincerely apologise.

One last time: You must install it!! First, go to your computer’s browser and type: Volumio.local/dev
and press " TRUE" button under the words “PLUGIN TEST MODE”.

Then the plugin will appear (Plugins–Search Plugins–User interface).

You have to do this because this is a test version

Okey… Thank you… :+1:

Thank you so much for your great support :+1:
After installing Peppy Spectrum, I have noticed a minor issue: occasionally, the screen flickers. Other than that, everything is operating as expected. Is there anything that can be done about it?

John

You need to drink less

:rofl::smile:. When the screen flickers, we experience difficulties. Is there anything we can do to fix it?

Only @balbuze can be answered for this question

With this plugin enable, when should it appear on screen, immediately pressing play or after x seconds like a peppymeter?

Right after pressing play (maybe 1-2 seconds delay)

Thanks. Nice one. Saddly cannot run it on my tinkerboard

Why bother with Tinkerboard? Buy RPi and all your problems will be solved

yes, something goes wrong installing Python dependencies “pillow-egg”.
If a python master can help…

I met this issue too. No solution for the moment…

For being able to play around with it It seems the best solution :innocent: :joy: :joy: :joy:

I have a problem

  1. clean install volumio 3.631 on Pi 4 4MB,
  2. enable dev plugin test mode
  3. install Touch Screen plugin ( 3.4.0 ) enable it. set screensaver timeout = 0, No screensaver while playing = On
  4. install Peppy-Spectrum plugin from store ( 0.019 ), enable it.
  5. reboot
  6. using filezilla transfer Gelo5 (1920x1080x55) folder to
    /data/INTERNAL/PeppySpectrum/Templates
    modify spectrum.txt
add 2 line to each skin
    opping.height = 1
    topping.step = 5
then in PeppySpectrum configuration, choose Gelo5 (1920x1080x55) and select one spectrum eg. G5_01 Marshall

I use HDMI out to FHD TV 1080P.
Then I play web radio, I can hear the sound, but the TV screen only shows the “Now Playing” screen, no Spectrum.
I also tried Spotify and local MP3 file, and also no Spectrum.

I also tried marshall2(800x480x55).zip, unzip the folder and choose G5_04Marchall, but still not work.

Is it need to install PeppyMeter or Now playing plugin so that PeppySpectrum can work ?

Thank you !

Is there something I missing ? in Playback option, I set HDMI out, Mixer type choose Hardware.

Hello,
due to a recent update in Pepyspectrum, a new plugin installation is broken…
I’m working on an update, I’ll tell you when ready…
