Hi, i’ve got a small mimo touch screen i can’t get it to work with volumio. I can see linux book on the screen when it first turns on and logs in - so it works. However as soon as volumio boots up it shows nothing. I can see the screen on the hdmi output. I can see the output it’s the bottom on in the list
volumio@volumiolounge:/opt$ find /sys/devices -name “edid”
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/drm/card1/card1-HDMI-A-1/edid
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/drm/card1/card1-DP-1/edid
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/drm/card1/card1-VGA-2/edid
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-3/1-3.1/1-3.1:1.0/drm/card0/card0-VG A-1/edid
To me its like it just needs to be directed to use that screen. What setting should i be changing in /opt/volumiokiosk.sh to get it to display on the correct screen? Once i’ve got a picture then i can see if the touch is working correctly and correct resolution etc
Thanks, Ben

Hi, I’m New here.
I trying to give another life to an old Acer aspire one Netbook, by installing Volumio.
When I boot from the pendrive automatically sends me to a line of command, where asks me for user and password. Googled and “volumio” for both worked. And thats all I ve got. I cant get to a graphic interface.
I get stuck in volumio@volumio:~$ and a sad titilating cursor.
Thanks in advanced for the help.

Hi, i’m new to Volumio, i think it’s a great program.
However, i come here, to ask for your help.
I installed Volumio on a PC, with a board ASUS TUF Gaming B760M, which has an SPDIF output.
After installing Volumio, and choose SPDIF as main device output, and trying EVERY IEC958 option, it turns out still no sound.
Ok, uninstall Volumio, (because i thought that could be a motherboard problem) install Ubuntu Studio, and tried the SPDIF output on Ubuntu Studio (choose IEC958+analogue)…and everything was normal, no problem with the motherboard. This option is not available on Volumio.
So, return to Volumio, install it from scratch and again no sound on SPDIF.
Can i get your help on this?
Cheers

That is one way of doing it, but this does not help others.
We would like to solve it in a way that works out-of-the-box for all other ASUS TUF users.
For that we need your help, could you please read the first post in this thread as @Wheaten suggested. In this case submitting a log is all you need to do. It will show us, which soundcard is being used in that device. We can add then add the board-specific SPDIF unmute to the soundinit code we already have.
EDIT: in case your soundcard is an ALC663, then let us know. That one is already on the to-do list
Hi, gkkpch,
Already found out a solution…i’ve spent a lot of time reading some other posts.
Hope you could see my solution.
Cheers
@Rui_C Yes, I saw your solution and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. We would like to add your soundcard to the list of boards we already support with a similar solution, so you (and others) would not have to do this at all.
We can make it work out-of-the-box when you can either tell me wich Realtek soundcard is used or create a log for us.
That would be really really helpful for us and you would potentially help others with it as well. So please if you have 2 minutes spare to read this guide , then post the url here. It is really very simple
Hi, gkkpch
Report sent, used the guide you provide, many thanks.
This is the link.

The soundcard is a Realtek ALC897.
If i can help with other stuff, just let me know.
PS - The volume slider doesnt’t work.
Cheers
Thanks, support for ALC897 will be added to the bookworm alpha in its next release.
(Feel free to join the upcoming beta testing once released, booting from USB is a good option and recommended when you want to keep the internal disk)
Yes, it would be fine to join the upcomning beta. Where can i download?
The beta phase will be announced soon.
Currently we are in alpha test phase: Public Alpha Test: Audio Without Compromise - Volumio on Bookworm Begins
Many thanks gkkpch, i’ll downlad and test it in USB.
I will try to send you feedback.
Please post your feedback in that same thread so things don’t scattered everyware and it also ensures that your feedback will be read.
Post on my thread about spdif issue or a related thread about new volumio alpha feedback?
the alpha thread, or later, on the beta thread.
The issue is known, the solution prepared, just waiting for feedback on the bookworm version because I won’t add it to buster (frozen).
