Waveshare 11.9 touch display with raspberry pi 5

Hello everyone, as per the title, I’m using a Waveshare 11.9 IPS display. The configuration I’m using is:

max_framebuffer_height=1480
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_timings=320 0 80 16 32 1480 0
16 412 0 0 0 60 0 42000000 3
display_rotate=1 #1: 90; 2:180; 3:270

The result is that when I restart the volumio, this happens.

After rebooting, the main volumio screen appears correctly. Using the plugin setting a rotation of 270°, everything works fine.

What can I do to make the volumio display appear correctly horizontal when booting?

I’ll start by saying that the problem is only with pi5, while with pi4 everything works perfectly.

I’m hoping for help because I’ve tried everything, I think. Thank you

Hey @calogero69,

VOLUMIO HELP REQUEST TEMPLATE
We need clear, complete, and specific information to help you. We do not have a crystal ball.
Do not write “latest version”. Always provide exact version numbers and device details.
Screenshots of the System Information page are not sufficient. Type the version number in your report.

Start your post with:

“I am having an issue with: __________________________”

Then provide the following information:

  • Device model and storage type (SD card, SSD, USB, etc.)
  • Exact Volumio version (example: 3.456)
  • Log link from your device (see: How to send a log link for a bug report?)
  • What happened, what you expected, and how the issue can be reproduced

If your report is related to Raspberry Pi, identify your exact Raspberry Pi device.

If your issue involves hardware, also provide:

  • Full identification of the device (datasheet, product page, or supplier/manufacturer link)
  • Photos of the hardware (top and bottom), showing PCB silkscreen markings, version numbers, and labels
  • Details of what is connected to what, and how (USB hub, GPIO pins, power source, etc.)

Reports missing this information may not receive a useful reply.

Kind Regards,
