finding that using the equalizer with hifiberry dac + pro forces turn off IS2 and replaces dac selection with allo boss ?
is this a known bug ? expected behaviour ?
The plugin does not exactly disable i2s, but redirect the output to the plugin. So you should see as output something like “hifiberry dac pro through equalizer plugin”. It’s just ok, and don’t change it, nor the volume mixer.
If you see allo boss, it’s because you try to enable i2s switch and appear the first item in the list.
But the most important : does it work for you ?

Hello i just installed volumio to my new USBridge and i am trying to get the equalizer to work, but it just refuses.
3 different things that happpen,
- clicking play and no sounds coming for my speakers
- a distorted high pitched version of the song i wanted to play will play.
- the song plays fine, but the equalizer doesn’t kick in
i have to note that this only happens in combination with the spotify app or when playing flac files from my hard disk.
i have tried almost every fix and almost every equalizer, but the same thing issues keep persisting.
things i have tried:
-Switching Amp/dac
- switching of the equalizer and then restarting and then turning the equalizer back on.
- restart the my usbridge a thousand times
- many many more
is there any fix or anything known to be wrong with the equalizer?

I can’t get this to work with software volume control, I have tried multiple times, the following steps:
*Install fresh volumio
*run config wizard, select phatDAC as output
*reboot
*test playback works (but no volume control available)
*open playback options and add software volume control
*reboot
*test playback works
*install simple equalizer plugin through plugin menu
*enable equalizer plugin
*reboot
*try playback - no audio
I have tried this multiple times and still the same result. If I miss the step adding software volume control, then audio works and equalizer works. But I need to have software volume control.
I am not sure where I am going wrong, I understand from other forums posts that this should work. thanks in advance.
Sorry but the equalizer plugin does not work with softvol. (This is the same for the other unofficial audio interface plugins).
Maybe one day…
Doh! I probably missed that written somewhere. I can’t get the phatDAC to work with hardware volume control, so I guess it is back to no equalizer for now.
My speakers are old and crusty so the sound is pretty dull at the moment, would love to see volume control added as a feature in the future.

Software volume management is something on my plan… But no ETA.
The parametric equalizer provides a gain settings. This is not a volume control, but you can set the level lower… But to be installed by hand…

Sorry for that issue. Unfortunately, I can’t test this hardware (I don’t own it).
But my suspicion goes to a sample rate problem.
Is it possible to test using a other usb port?
My dac and the USBridge only have 1 usb but i tried using another dac/amp (fiio Q1) and the problem persisted, so it probably has something to so with the USBridge or my settings…
I think the problem comes from the fact that the Allo Usb bridge is based on a sparky. There is some differences in the config file.

I also have a trouble with this plugin I am dreaming !
If I install it, the plugin will work but after a while, I am loosing the audio with spotify (volumio spotify connect2 plugin).
A reboot is worst, no sound, whatever the source !
I did test it 4 times at least but always the same result.
I am using a rapsberry 2 B+ DAC Allo Boss and last Volumio versio.
Any chance this can be updated so each EQ band has a 0.1db increment?

As far as I remember, a value less than 0.5 is difficult to use with the UI because it requires a movement inf of screen/mouse/finger resolution. I’ll check the minimum value usable.
