At each step of the equalizer, how many db do they correspond?
Hello,
I updated to Volumio version 2.657 and now the EQ plugin no longer works (version 0.4.4). Has anyone observed this?
hi!
I tested it on a fresh install and it works fine…
I suggest you remove the plugin, reboot, configure volumio to use your dac, play something and if ok reinstall the plugin.
let me know
Thanks - everything plays fine once I turn the EQ off. I’ll give it a shot when I can.
I uninstalled version 0.4.4 and reinstalled 0.4.1 (from the plugins list in the app), and still no sound. I am using a Hifiberry Digi+ if that matters.
Also, I noticed “undefined” under Mixer Type when I install the plugin - don’t know if that was there before. Turning it to “none” did not help.
This might be a Simple EQ pluggin sw issue.
I have done further testing and this sw bug issue involves the Simple EQ pluggin and the IQAudio HAT drivers.
- IQAudioAmp+ plus equalizer plugging appears in Output Device and no sound is produced. Simple EQ pluggin is active.
- If you remove/uninstall Simple EQ pluggin while keeping IQAudioAmp+ as the Output Device sound is produced.
- If you leave Simple EQ pluggin active, turn on I2S DAC to ON, reboot, then IQAudioDAC appears in Output Device. Select IQAudioDAC and then sound is back ON and the Simple EQ pluggin is active and works fine.
- I have removed and reinstalled the Simple EQ pluggin and rebooted with no effect.
- Volumio 2.714 does not solve this issue. Issues 1-4 above still occur.

Hope this helps. TIA.

Have you tried a complete fresh install? Not even a factory reset, but wipe the memory card and start over? I was having this issue with both plugins and a fresh install did the trick.
Reformatted the SDcard and put older image of Volumio. Once I updated Volumio problem returned.
Another issue with this pluggin is the Simple EQ pluggin cannot work with the Spotify pluggin. Cant seem to get both to work at the same time.
I just tested and it works with Spotify…
What is your DAc, device, version of Volumio?
Hello @balbuze, I am testing Tidal through Roon and the Volumio Roon Bridge plugin.
With the SimpleEQ plugin the Tidal MASTER format does not work, it does not reproduce any theme. In Roon it shows me as output devices twice Loopback PCM, one of them is the one that normally emits all formats, except MASTER.
If I disable the Simple EQ Plugin, in Roon I choose Allo Boss as the output device and everything works normally.
Is there something I am doing wrong?
The sw bug issue involves the Simple EQ pluggin, the IQAudio HAT drivers and the Spotify pluggin.
- “IQAudioAmp+ plus equalizer plugging” appears in Output Device and no sound is produced.
The HAT remains the IQAudioAmp+ though.
- I have removed and reinstalled the Simple EQ pluggin and rebooted with no effect.
- With Simple EQ and Spotify plugins active no sound is produced regardless of selected output device.
- Volumio 2.773 5/5/2020 does not solve this issue. Issues 1-5 above still occur.
