Hi,
One quick question. Is there no new Volumio versions for Volumio Primo (v1) / Tinkerboard boards?
I run on to this and just wonder about it (now I’m in some housing changes and can’t test it with my Volumio Primo since it is now disconnected).

Thank you!
Is the system image file for Tinker Board S identical to that for Volumio Primo? If not, can I download the Volumio Primo system image from somewhere?
@Darmur Can you answer?
the image for Primo v1 is exactly the same of the “plain” thinkerboard.
the first boot must be done with the Thinkerboard plugged into the Primo v1 mainboard, the OS will recognize the Primo mainboard and configure itself, with no further actions required.
If you did this already and the OS did not reconfigure, you most probably have a HW issue on the mainboard too.
Thank you for your reply.
That’s what I did - I opened Primo, connected it to the PC via micro-USB connector and installed the latest version of the system for Tinker Board S (3.779). I’m able to play audio on the HDMI output, but there is no option to select analog RCA outputs. After reading the other threads, I added ES9028Q2M overlay to the hw_intf.conf file. Now I can select analog RCA outputs in the playback options, but unfortunately the sound does not appear.
Is there any way to confirm/exclude a hardware problem?
Please flash again the Thinkerboard EMMC form a PC.
Make sure to perform the first boot with the ThinkerBoard connected to the Primo mainboard
if you don’t see the Analog outputs available already, with no further changes required, it means you have a HW problem either on the Thinkerboard or on the MainBoard.
I’m in the same boat, I have the first Primo device and cant use YT Music anymore. Did you ever find some way to get Volumio4 on the Primo v1 so it can get the newer versions of the required plugins with the fixes to avoid 403 yadayada?
Thanks!

Any updates of this?
Original post stated that native Volumio products and OEM-products will get Volumio 4 Q1 2026.
Any chance to help? Test or evaluation?
I’ve got Volumio 4 to three other streamers in the house, working very well! But can’t do multiroom with the Primo 1 player. Which also in other ways works quite bad out of the box with Volumio 3.
Lost patience, supposed to be done in Q4 2026 and still no news or updates since. I purchased my Primo v1 for the community/plugins but cant use the ones I need anymore since what feels like forever so done deal Im out. Eversolo here I come! ![]()
