Volumio on Raspberry Pi login

I have installed Volumio onto a Raspberry Pi with a 7" touchscreen. I goes through the setup and then asks me to log in. I have no idea what the login is. Is there a default, or can this request be disabled?
I have the Volumio app installed on my iPhone and I can access this Pi installation without any problem, I just can access it on the Pi touchscreen.

Ken

Volumio is a headless systeem (you can access it via the app or wen-browser).
If you connect a display to it, you need to install the Touch Display plugin.
There is no need to login.

Thank you, I’ve downloaded and installed the plugin, but all I get now on boot is a blank screen.

try this plugin, it helps you configuring the screen:

Hi I downloaded and installed the plug in, but no success so far. The monitor I have seems to be a generic one. It’s described as a 7" HDMI IPS Capacitive 5 point touchscreen. 1024 x 600, I have tried almost all of the listed 7" 1024 x 600 ones listed, but I still only get a screen with a QR code on it and a request to login.

Is this what you are looking for?

Kind Regards,

already mention this is my first post.

Oh ok thank you, I’ll have to try another OS.

Because???

I’m a noob and I’d understood the post to read I couldn’t use HDMI. I’ve tried all of the 1024 x 600 screens and none work.

Again:
There are 2 steps needed.

  • Make sure your display is working, Which it does as you mentioned you see QR code.
  • Install touch display plugin (via the plugin store) to make the GUI visible on your local screen.

I have installed the plugin, but it still only displays the QR Code and login screen, not the GUI. I’ve connected to it via my web browser and tried every 1024 x 600 7" monitor in your plugin and none of them make any difference.

Please provide the following:

  • Exact link to your screen
  • Which rPi are you using
  • Which version of Volumio are you running and don’t say the latest, the exact version
  • Post a log and copy the generated URL here.

Are you sure that it’s the Touch Display Plugin that you’ve installed and not the Pi ScreenSetup plugin?

Hi I’ve installed another OS, but I’ll reinstall Volumio again in the morning.

  1. 7 Inch Raspberry Pi 4/3/2/B/B+/A+ Monitor 1024x600 IPS 5-punts capacitieve touchscreen Drive Gratis HDMI-display voor Win 7/8/10 - AliExpress 502
  2. Raspberry Pi 3 Model B V1.2
  3. Volumio 4.084-2025-12-25
  4. I’ll post a log when I reinstall Volumio.

Hi was I supposed to install both the original pi touch display plugin as well as yours?

You are not supposed to install any 3rd party drivers etc. Just 2 plugins:
In case the screen isn’t showing default boot logo and text:

To get the GUI on the screen:

Here is a link to my log file. I reloaded Volumio this morning and finally got it to display the screen, but there’s no touch and the screen goes off after about 10 seconds. I’ll have to try some different settings and possibly a higher current output power supply. I am using a genuine raspberry pi one at 3A.

Yeah you have to install the screen plug-in as mentioned, and also should install the ‘now playing’ one, something I forgot to do sometimes.

Thanks all for helping fix the screen issues I’ve had with a very similar setup. The Touch Display plugin install & update would fail, but trying it again today made it all work again. Now I need to get the screen on my other Volumio install back up and running.
