Volumio Android App not working

I’ve successfully set up Volumio 2 on RPI B in which I use USB WiFi adapter. Unfortunately Volumio Android App cannot seem to find any devices.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Hi, can you try:

  • First, check if your phone is connected to the same network as Volumio
  • Check you don’t have client isolation set on your router
  • Check if the IPs of your wireless connection and ethernet connection are on the same subnet

Maybe try scanning with fing to see if your phone can see Volumio in your network:

Yes, I have tested it with Fing and it has Volumio registered already as 192.168.1.6. Still Volumio Android App says ‘Device not Found’

Stupid question: but if you click on search again, does it find it?
On which version are you? (is it the special one for allo digione and hifiberry? if yes, it won’t work but those changes will be available soon in a new release)

Can you reboot your router?

Yes I did hit search again many times, no result.

I work with version 2.201

I rebooted twice at least, no progress unfortunately.

Any more tricks? Thanks

So, 192.168.1.3 works on Chrome, I can see the interface and work with it. But not the Android App!

Exactly, I downloaded and tried this version, doesn’t work. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple of times, nothing. Cleared up the cache, no result. All permissions are granted to the app BTW.

What could be wrong?

Did you try to restart your router?

Anything else I may try? Any of the Volumio Network Settings that I could change through Chrome perhaps?

for me the app finds the device when i deactivate the datatransfer via gsm - only wlan.

GSM inactive, just WiFi… the problem persists

The thing with this app is that there is no way to tweak settings and see what happens. If the device is not found as in my case then the app is completely useless.

As much as I enjoy Volumio as an application, the Android App is problematic, apparently not only for me. I don’t regret the 1.19€ but I really wish this worked for me!

So, after 2 weeks or so I reinstalled Volumio Android App and to my surprise it worked! But that was for just 5 minutes (?)… As soon as I switched to another app it lost connection and cannot find it again.

Same thing happened on my tablet.

Can you take a log of the event somehow and check what the problem is?
