Volumio 3 RC1 - Open Beta Testing

A suggestion, which works for my DIGI2 Pro.
Select the correct DAC+ in Sources. Shutdown the PI. Disconnect the PSU but leave it powered up. Wait 2-3 minutes. Re-connect the PSU to the PI and wait for PI and Volumio to re-boot.

Hi,
Regarding the 80s80s webradio, the album art is not synched with the song. Sory for my pressure but this is may favorite radio :)… Would tou he so kind to fix it.
On my previous verision it worked… I know that @balbuze updated the corect version and I install it manually.
Thanks

This is something you should ask to the plugin developer :wink:

Volumio 3 is already performing better in some ways than v.2 did for me. For example, the artist view is showing images now (it never worked for me in 2.x). :+1:

It’s a small thing, but I noticed that none of the radio stations in my “Favorite Radios” view have icons but the same stations have icons in the “Volumio Selections” station view. See “Linn Jazz” in this example:

Shouldn’t the radio station icons be displayed regardless of the page?

3.163, RPi4

But I do not know who upload it.

@marco79cgn
Hello,
I like very much your Plugin but there are some issues regarding synch between what is displayed and what is heard. Could tou please take a look.
Thanks

Just chiming in to say thanks to all the people which already upgraded to Premium, this means a lot to us as this is the proof that you’re enjoying what we put lof of sweat and love into.

We did not expect so many people to jump into Premium, even before release!

Thanks!

Can I install manually a plugin?

@volumio
Is not possible to implement album art in already existing 80s80s webradio under volumio?
Thanks

Any idea why I am missing the meta-data on the local device, this was working fine several builds ago.

Hi @volumio. Here is my report of my problems, I hope that now I am doing well:
I have installed version 3.163 from scratch, assuming that my problems with 3.159 were going to end but no, it is exactly the same as before. This is:

  1. Despite being logged in, when I want to access the Complements, it requests the Login.
  2. The Radio Zone does not activate any option.
  3. Check for Updates is also unresponsive. I paste here the Lg that I just generated, also in volumio.local / dev I have given Send this myself.
    I am attaching a photo, in case my explanation has not been very clear.
    All the best.

Hola @volumio .

I reckon I am the most frustrated Volumio user in the world :slight_smile:

To recap, somehow Volumio thinks it is being reconfigured and so keeps stopping the song I am playing and after a little while I get the startup sound and if I hit play it starts the song I was playing from the beginning.

I thought I’d spend some serious time looking at it this evening, so I have changed:

  • the sd card
  • the networking from wired to wireless
  • the raspberry pi (from a 4 to a 3)
  • the USB disks with my music on
  • the power supply

and it still keeps happening - it makes no sense at all. Two odd things I have noticed is that after initial setup my music on USB isn’t indexed properly (it only recognised a dozen albums instead of the 200 or so on my USB disks - doing a rescan fixes this) and it somehow magically knows that I am a superstar member without me having to authenticate

@volumio Can you please help

Many thanks

Andrew

Yes it is possible.
You can to do by SSH command window.

Once downloaded, un zipped etc. enter the directory and issue the command volumio plugin install
If all goes well, once done it will appear within volumio in the installed plugins section. All you need to do is acivate it.

Example of me trying the rotary plugin (unworking though)

wget http://plugins.volumio.org/plugins/volumio/armhf/user_interface/rotaryencoder/rotaryencoder.zip

mkdir ./rotary

miniunzip rotaryencoder.zip -d ./rotary

cd rotary

volumio plugin install

Issue: DSD does not play natively.

I have two DACs (Denafrips Aries II and NAD D3045) and with both of those i cant find a way to play DSD natively.
I have tried various DSD from 64 to 1024 and each time they are being converted to PCM with various resulting rate. Trying to play via DoP doesnt work either.

Device? Details? We’re not so good at guessing :stuck_out_tongue:

@gkkpch

RPI 4B w/ RPI 7" display and running Volumio RC1 (3.163). Manifest UI and playing Radio Paradise, no artist data in the RPI, via http all is good. I have re-flashed and updated w/ same behavior.

Sitting on my IOT subnet w/ access to internet and no FW ACLs.

Plugins include Touch Display and Radio Paradise.

Attached via USB to a RME DAC (ADI-2).

Also, a Superstar subscription.

Same w/ local media.

Lastly, this was working fine 2 builds before, 3.152 worked fine.

Thanks

I’m kinda impressed by how many people listen to the radio stations
