sorry if I’m an donkey.I follow the guide but when he asks me for an address I put //192.168.1.3 / …?
then I get lost …
If this is the IP of your volumio device, just write it 192.168.1.3
I succeeded. But the filters don’t look good. maybe I made too many corrections. I then try. Unfortunately, as soon as I turn off the volume in the wrong way, the plugin dies. I found the config folder corrupted. just replace it and it works. but I always have to disassemble the monitor in the car to remove the micro sd and restore it. I have to try turning it off with the button and leave the raspberry connected to the power supply
What do you mean by the plugin dies? Do you mean it can’t work anymore? Can you still open the webui!?
yes. but the plugin turned on no longer sound. I try to restart. but it doesn’t work anymore. When this happens I explore the micro sd and the config folder is damaged. but I have to figure out if he does it after changing the output format or after turning volume off incorrectly
For those who may be concerned, a new patch that allows 24 bit support for ALSA Loopback device has been very recently published and approved. Check here: lkml.org/lkml/2019/3/25/709
As Brutefir plugin relies on the Loopback device, you might be interested. However, at the moment you have to recompile the kernel to make it work. I just did and it’s all right:
volumio@volumiopc:~$ cat /proc/asound/card7/pcm0p/sub0/hw_params
access: RW_INTERLEAVED
format: S24_3LE
subformat: STD
channels: 2
rate: 88200 (88200/1)
period_size: 11025
buffer_size: 44100
Have fun!
as they say in Italy: we are not going to wake up the sleeping dog the filters I had the format wrong. I now saved the text and they work. To be the first one it sounds good. Effective correction. Now I try to make them better.
maybe I made a mistake. when I open the ssh terminal and finish writing the lines I close. but maybe I have to save instead? I use putty on windows.
if I wanted to buy a real boss-type dac i2s or katana, does the hardware volume with plug-in work?
Not sure if you saw this balbuze, but someone over at audioscience review found limiting BruteFIR to a single CPU fixed the pausing.

Is there a way to use hardware volume with plugins on? or c and need for a preamplifier or external volume control? = I’m with katana on the desk but can’t figure out how to get a volume.
hello, I’ve seen continuous developments. I wanted to know if the noise problem on Raspberry USB with plug in turned on has been solved. I hope so on at least the new Raspberry 4
Hi!
We can expect it will be better with Rpi4. But not tested yet. I should receive mine in next few days…
OK thanks. happy holiday
Hi!
I received my RPI4 and I confirm that it plays 24b/192 flac with an USB dac (fx-audio D802) through the plugin using brutefir with a 64k length filter with no glitches, pop, or other noise !
Big improvement!
but hot hot cpu!
I don’t know what and changed after several updates. I tried rpi3 with dac usb khadas tone board and no longer makes any noise. I tested it for 1 hour. No glitch
@angelo.b
what sort of filter do you use and how id you generate them?
thanks for giving details and improvements you wish to see in the plugin
I use filter created directly on rephase after having removed the measurement from rew.pero 'I must say that after 1 hour of hot test the glitches begin. I tried also without filters only with plugin on. but the glitches makes them the same. it seems that the plugin carries a slight loss of quality. it will be possible to use the 192k mode now it only works up to 96k
do you mean Dirac pulse ?
what element, measure, listening brings you to that conclusion?
is your DAC able to play at 192kHz? It works on my setup, even if I don’t use it (it requires adapted filters)
it dirac pulse.la loss of quality and only impression of listening perhaps tired ear.l my current dac and katana plays up to 384khz.devo do other tests with rew and rephase
