Spotify Plugin not working/ Playing Music

I can’t find HIGHRESAUDIO usr/pw fields. i can see

spotify_username = my_email
spotify_password = my_pass

in spopd.conf, but logging out and logging in again doesn’t help.

I did a bit of search and found out that spopd has been all but abandoned by its original author. https://github.com/Schnouki/spop/issues/68

Apparently the libspotify has been depreciated since 2015 and finally (at least partially) broke in 2020.

Unless someone stands up and makes a new version of spopd using https://github.com/librespot-org/librespot , it’s just a question of time when no amount of workaround will help to get this working. And as I said - it definitely doesn’t work for me and now I’m not even sure if trying the workarounds is worthwhile.

Hi Philx,
I’m facing the same problems with the latest “old” version 2.917 and therefore now installed version 3.324 with the spotify plugin 3.06 (spotify connect cannot be longer found in the plugin list). The behaviour is exactly the same besides the fact that now playback of the last resource is stopped when I select a title in spotify. With version 2.917 the previous title didn’t stop.
Did you find a solution in the meantime?
