Rockna Wavelight USB DAC not playing higher than 48khz (Tidal Connect)

Hi!

Newbie warning!

Received my RIVO today (hurray!) and installed it successfully after upgrading it to latest sw.
Everything works, kinda, but I do not get any higher bitrate than 48khz over USB…

My DAC is Rockna Wavelight: Wavelight PRE/DAC | Rockna Audio

Connection is good USB cable.

The Volumio app recognises the USB DAC (App lists DAC in General playback option, output device).

When I play songs in Tidal, I “only” get max 48kHz on FLAC songs I know is 88kHz and 96kHz.

Why?

How to remedy this?

The spec of digital inputs on DAC:
DIGITAL INPUTS
S/PDIF|24bit 44.1-192k PCM, DSD64
AES/EBU|24bit 44.1-192k PCM, DSD64|
USB|32bit 44.1-384k PCM, DSD64-512
OPTICAL|24bit 44.1-176k PCM, DSD64
I2S (LVDS)|32bit 44.1-384k PCM, DSD64-512

Cheers, Tom

Are you talking about MQA tracks?

For the new FLAC format with Tidal is there an update on its way.

On Top if we are talking about MQA, It doesn’t seems this DAC supports MQA.
So Volumio can only pass through MQA and leave render and decoding to the DAC, But your DAC must support it.

Ahhh, thanks! Looking forward to 8th of November!! Thanks for info!!

RIVO won best streaming device 2023/24, will be even better when hires is available also on Tidal Connect!!

How to get the update on 8th of November? Standard SW update or by other means?

It should be a part of the normal update package, together with other fixes and updates.
(If Volumio finds any bugs, then the release date maybe will be delayed)
