Raspberry Pi5 2GB

Hello! When is RPi5 2GB version support expected? Unfortunately, 3.742 cannot be installed on this 2GB version.

it is already supported, I am running Volumio on my 2GB RAM RPi5 without problems

Same here

I tried several times, it didn’t work. I tried as described. Get Started… 4 steps. New RPi5, 27W power supply, SD card new, not fake, disk image downloaded from the Volumio website, write… and nothing happens. Monitor is dark, no IP address is received. Pi5 is good, all other programs can be installed, Raspberry Pi OS, moOde, etc.

by any chance, are you changing some settings on the image with Rasperry Pi Imager tool before writing the image on the SD-card?

I’m not changing anything.

I have the same problem !! I’m mad…

I’ve try with Raspberry Pi Imager… it doesn’t work… the green light stay green

Me too. Especially since everything else besides Volumion can be installed. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Can anyone confirm that a completely fresh 3.742 install works on Pi5 2GB? So far we see reports here that it doesn’t. It’s coincidence, faulty media and installation mistakes, or it isn’t.

It seems possible, from reading this thread, that 3.742 works OK if installed as an earlier version and then updated (perhaps accounting for the positive reports), while it also may be true that the fresh install image or process is faulty in some way that it would be good to know about. Useful to eliminate that, I suggest.

I understand that Pi imager verifies the images it creates by default.

Perhaps also worth attempting to install an earlier version if available and run updates to 3.742, as a stopgap/test.

Volumio is running here without issues. Only found a HW bug. When using a powered USB hub, the FAN keeps rotating when the rpi is switched off.

And that’s a fresh install of 3.742?

yes it is.

Hello everyone!
I can confirm that after three days of attempts it is still impossible for me to use Volumio on my Raspberry pi5 2GB.

I tried all the flashing methods including the one recommended on this forum. Nothing works.

After inserting the flashed SD card, the raspberry turns on, the green LED stays on and the HDMI screen is black.

I also confirm that I have tried other systems like Rasbian and it works.

So there is a problem with the latest version of Volumio.

Have you downloaded image from volumio site or directly by raspberry pi imager?

Same here. I’ve tried all the versions recommended here and on other forums. And yes I also downloaded it from the Volumio website, and yes I unzipped the Zip file before writing, and yes I tried other writers and yes I checked the SD card, no errors, not fake, all other programs work perfectly, but Volumio not!

Always from Volumio.com. Never from the Raspberry Pi Imager!!

All,

Taking Raspberry Pi 5 2GB on the lab bench for the technical breakdown. Will share my findings in the next couple of days.

All of the Volumionauts who are having an issue with booting or using - can you please list:

  1. Your Pi hardware PCB version (cat /proc/device-tree/model)
  2. Your Pi eeprom firmware version (sudo vcgencmd bootloader_version)
  3. Connected storage type, size, model, vendor
  4. Connected screen/display type, model, vendor
  5. Connected peripherals type, model, vendor

Kind Regards,

Thank you again

Dear Volumionauts,

Skipping boring technical stuff and fast forward to the needed testing:

  1. Download attached bcm2712d0.zip file
  2. Unzip bcm2712d0.zip and ensure that the uncompressed bcm2712d0.dtbo file md5sum is 8681032711dc7c46ea648fe6e0a88a1d
  3. Move bcm2712d0.dtbo file to your MicroSD card /boot/overlays/ mount or folder
  4. Report back test results

bcm2712d0.zip (618 Bytes)

This is a dirty fix for now, no guarantees or any responsibility for your doorknob start singing Kumbaya… or anything else.

Kind Regards,
