Volumio and Qobuz are partners say’s there website.
Yes, we are close partners with QOBUZ and are working actively with QOBUZ to be among the first to release QOBUZ Connect when it’s ready for prime time.
The good news is that we have a fully working QOBUZ Connect implementation and we reached the stage of internal QA (which is the latest step before a public release).
While it’s not entirely up to us when to release (on this we have to follow QOBUZ timelines) we are confidend that QOBUZ connect will be available soon, hopefully between this and next month. But again, this will depend on what QOBUZ tells us.
Hi, any news from Qobuz?
Can’t tell anything, which is a good thing
Euh if you can’t tell, can you sing it?
Two weeks ago, I received an email from Qobuz inviting me to apply to become a Qobuz Connect beta tester. It came with a questionnaire and they will select some users to join their “initial beta testing phase”.
You have big delay in the mail . I received this invite late December 2024?
It would seem High End Munich would be a good time for Qobuz to officially launch connect
High End Munich is only a month away. Qobuz Connect is in early beta testing and I’m doubtful that it will be ready for launch so soon. Remember that streamer manufacturers also need to have their products ready to support Connect.
AFAIK it has been in ‘early beta testing’ for about six months. Wiim, volumio and several others seem to have their products ready.
Well maybe Qobuz connect is the TBA feature in Volumio v3.807 It is enabled in mine, I don’t remember doing that. Can’t test 'cause I switched to tidal
Thanks for this post Marc, this seems to be the reason it’s not yet working for me.
I’m on v3.804, and I don’t see ‘Qobuz Connect’ in my list.
I just upgraded the app to the latest version via Volumio app and it says I’m ‘up-to-date’, am I missing something…?
3.807 came just a few days after 3.804. I have a Rivo+, maybe those get updates earlier? Maybe the @volumio team can tell you.
Thanks for confirming, I’ll wait patiently then…
I am running Qobuz Connect on my Rivo Plus now. The sound quality is surprisingly good and perhaps I may be dreaming but it appears to have better edge definition and texture than running via the Rivo/Volumio. The bass sounds stronger and tighter too and the overall sound is very slightly crisper with better separation. Keen to know what your experience on the SQ is via Qobuz Connect.
We need Qobuz Connect for our iFi ZEN Stream devices too, based on Volumio OEM. Can you please help iFi to get this feature onto the next system update as well. Also iFi need to open up the OEM to Volumio so its customers can have the choice to customise their ZEN Stream devices much more than is possible right now. I wouldn’t mind paying for a Volumio OS license if it was made/allowed to run on iFi ZEN Stream devices. They promised us Googlecast!
please have a look here
we recommend to consider original Volumio devices or devices from official OEM partners to enjoy the full Volumio experience, without compromises.
For Premium only…
Excluding those who have been supporting you for a long time and still on the defunct Virtuoso plan… forcing them to upgrade is a bit of a dick move imho.
I’ll probably wait for my disappointment to fade out beforehand (unless there’s a commercial gesture from Volumio’s team that would compensate for the patience )
But otherwise, thank you
