We have noticed some confusion in the market, as in this conversation, regarding iFi Audio’s streamers and Volumio, so we want to take a moment to clarify.
While some may believe these devices offer the same Volumio experience, that is not the case.
iFi Audio is not affiliated with Volumio and does not have an official license to integrate Volumio into their products.
As a result, we cannot confirm that their products meet the quality and performance standards our users and OEM partners expect from an authorized Volumio solution.
We’ve also seen that some customers may have assumed they are purchasing a product that includes the full Volumio experience, only to find that key features are missing.
iFi’s implementation does not include many of the core functionalities that make Volumio what it is, such as Supersearch (AI Search & Playlists), Infinity Playback (AI DJ), Related Artists & Albums, Multiroom Sync Playback, native Qobuz and TIDAL integrations, CD Playback and Ripping, Bluetooth Audio Playback, Highresaudio.com Integration, Digital and Analog Inputs Playback, Music and Artists Credit Discovery, and the Play Here function.
Because iFi Audio’s products are not authorized or licensed, we cannot guarantee their performance, reliability, or compatibility with the full Volumio ecosystem.
We want to ensure that users looking for a true Volumio experience—one backed by official support, regular updates, and all the features Volumio is known for—are aware that this can only be found in official Volumio hardware and products from our licensed OEM partners.
Some users are understandably confused into believing they are getting Volumio when they are not, as evidenced by this discussion.
We stand by our users and our community, and we want to avoid any possible disappointment for those seeking an authentic Volumio experience.
