Project with PeppyMeter/PeppySpectrum Screensaver Plugin for VOLUMIO

So the fault is not on Peppymeter’s side.

Can you try the following, just trying to exclude as much as possible.
In Peppy:

  • Star/Stop animation => Off
  • Select a template, smaller then your screen. like one off the seeded like 800x480
  • Pick only one template (not list or random)

What happens now?

Errr… nothing… it might have just died as i can’t get it to do anything! And rebooting doesn’t help.

I’m going to leave this till tomorrow so i don’t throw it across the room.

yea been there.
Fight with a HifiBerry DAC+ Pro, which kept causing issues.
So I introduced it to a sledge hammer.
We won

Ciao a tutti, peppy meter non supporta gif animate?
Vorrei tanto visualizzare una cosa del genere…
cassetta

Grazie

Hi Gelo5. I was wondering if it would be possible to resize the peppy meter, without editing the images in Photoshop. Only edit the configtx of the plugin?

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for all the time and effort and your responsiveness to user requests You’ve made so many members happy by fulfilling their requests, and I’m very thankful for your work.

Peppy relies on pygame, currently it’s not possible to make it dynamic.

Unfortunately, peppy does not support .gif :sleepy:

Grazie per tutto il lavoro svolto, non è possibile creare una sequenza di PNG che si alternano continuamente a simulare la rotazione continua? La rotazione deve essere slegata dal ritmo. Grazie

Thanks for all the work, is it not possible to create a sequence of PNGs that alternate continuously to simulate continuous rotation? The rotation must be unrelated to the rhythm. Thanks

@Andrea_Quatela
I recommend changing the post to English (until @Wheaten doesn’t see :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Edit: Too late…

Animated background is not supported.

You’re welcome for the translation! I liked your comment about the image formats. Since I don’t fully understand the mechanism that drives the VU meter needles, I’ve guessed that it might be possible to animate them by sequencing PNG images. Greetings to everyone!

Very basic,

The Image of the needles are replaced on the background using calculated angels.

Result final Thank you!

It’s been a while since I play Spotify with PeppyMeter. I remember the needles don’t move before, then there was some updated plugins and the needles move as it supposed to. Now, I am in Thailand and just subscribed to Spotify and now the needles don’t move again.

Did I do anything wrong?

Volumio tested 3.795, 3.796, 3.799
Spotify Plugin 4.1.4
Touch Display 3.5.1
PeppyMeter 2.2.1
Alsa Configuration - DSD native (bitperfect audio)
Spotify Integration - ON
Spotify Compat. with USB-DACs - ON

I don’t have any issues with local files, YouTube Music.

Thank you.

Andy

For me, to get peppymeter working, I had to also activate the FusionDSP plugin.

Thank you. It worked!

Hi,
Hopefully you have a little time to advice me on this issue.
I am using the latest Volumio image and the PeppyMeter plug in that comes with it.
I tried many many things to get the PeppyMeters working with my Pi3 Band also Pi4 (now).
Without playing music (Spotify) I see the VU meter in the correct resolution (1920x1080) and all looks promising.
However when I try to play my phone gets disconnected from Volumio installed on Pi4B.
I have tried many things e.g. Software Mixer, DSD direct / DSD via PCM , but nothing makes a difference.
My Pi is plugged into an Audiophonics Board which i selected as an output device.
Once I switch PepperMeter off all is working.
Sometimes I can play a song but the meter needles wont move.
This is the link if you like to see the entire log:
https://logs.volumio.org/volumio/A8uR2QS.html 4
I did a bit more research on this error:
Mar 30 12:29:49 volumio volumio[857]: info: Could not detect Primo: Error: Command failed: aplay -l | grep es90x8q2m-dac-dai-0
and my understanding is that the error might be caused by some conflict with my Audiophonics DAC ?
I tried with a different DAC setting (HifiBerry seems compatible) but that didnt solve anything either.

Regards,
Bjoern
