This is what I’ve seen during testing (Rivo) and reported back:
As @DENMARK reports, I can’t duplicate what he is experience with the Primo Plus.
The App is working well for the Motivo and Primo Plus (both CM4), not for the Rivo it’s struggling (VIM).
I can reproduce what @DENMARK reported, same here with Rivo+. So it might be the current state of Volumio core at the moment the version with the new MCU was generated. Always a risk with test versions, it just happens. Not a biggie for me atm, as I usually use a browser. Will wait for the core team to reply
together with the MCU FW update, there were some other changes done at OS level.
what caused your problem are the changes at OS level, in combination with the app. The changes on the MCU FW 0.5.3 are not related at all to the problems you described.
it’s not possible to downgrade the OS version and the MCU FW once updated, but please be assured the SW team is aware of the problem, they will try to solve it as quickly as possible, sorry again for the inconvenience
@DENMARK a new version of the Android/iOS app (5.260115.0) with the fix for your problem is going to be released soon, hopefully today.
The new version of the app is already available in the beta channel, up to you if you want to try it immediately or wait for this new version to be released as stable
I can confirm, that the volumio app update (in my case ios) to 5.260115.0 fixes the issue.
Now the app connects to Rivo+ with Volumio version 3.896 without problems.
Everything just working flawlessly now Really impressed with the Primo Plus. Streamer and DAC implementation is just amazing. Love the feature being able to optimize the internal DAC output level - 100% enjoyment
