Hi everyone/developer!
I’m here to ask and help to powering my raspberry pi 3b+ with attached oled display and a rotary encoder using this generic smps adapter with 5v 3a, this adapter is working eith my pi4b+. i am trying to make a 3d printed case for my diy streaming box and extend the wire just like on the picture below. So i soldered the wire to pp2(5v) pp5(gnd)
Hi what happen is when i tried to powering rpi3b+ as shows above. The red led light is stable. But after i insert the micro sd card with os and some plugins like encoder, oled and pydpiper it couldn’t boot up. The red led light sudden off and off i don’t know if undervoltage/undercurrent. But this adapter is working with my pi4 without a problem.
And i tried to use phone charger with 5v 3a and connected direct to the pi3 it boot up well.
My only purpose is to expand/extend the power line so i can attach the socket to the 3d print case and away to the pi board.
Thanks wheaten, i made to work it now yhe generic smps adapter is getting volt droop down, so i use an apple smps adapter and it get to work. And the type - C socket that I’d used is not sufficient with the power so i bought a micro usb with a large size of wire.
