Your log entries do not show anything about the search, so I don’t know what’s going on. Also for playback, I see the player clearerror but it doesn’t say what error it encountered. Perhaps a full bug report would show more useful info.
Also, if you’re updating from a previous version, make sure you reboot Volumio after the update.

Now the search function is broken.
Playing youtube-tunes in general is possible.
When i try to access youtube songs that i have already in volumio playlists all is good.
I can play single songs and albums under “Explore”.
So the only problem seems to be the search function.
See my reply just above your post. I need logs for the search function because I don’t have this problem myself. Also what do you mean by “search function is broken”? Does it keep on loading without showing anything, or does it show a “No items” / “No results” message?
Obwiously the broken “search” blocked the playback of the tracks in “Explore” I’m sorry.
So it’s just the broken search. The progress bar stops right before the end.
Just installed v1.2.3 and rebooted, everything works except search function, as @Daraia states progress bar stops just before the end, no search results ever get displayed.
Double-check under “Installed Plugins” that you really have v1.2.3 installed. Most likely it will say v1.2.2. Volumio’s plugin store interface is confusing when it comes to beta vs stable releases.
… yes it is strange. I activated plugins test mode rebooted and installed version 1.2.3.
Rebooted again and version 1.2.2 is installed.
I thought different installable versions would show up when clickling on details. But only “youtube music plugin for volumio” shows up…
