A little bit too late to post this but I would like to leave a note just for information for others. I have Volumio 2.857 on Odroid XU4 running youtube2 plugin. I was having 2/3 cutoff problem also. However, after I updated MPD to 0.21.16 today, youtube2 plugin running perfectly without cutoff.

Yep - it is the same as I done with Netflix for Kodi for Retropie. Anyway - It whould be easier and quicker.
