It is sometimes working, but you cannot trust it.

i m having also issue with the plugin i attach the log when i tried to cast something from youtube
after a while i got also different errors from mpd when i tried to play somethingā¦

I dont know what it is with this plugin. It has worked less times iāve wanted to use it than the other way around, but my suspicion is that its usually due to changes from YouTube making the plugin not working. Bummer!

I had some issues with my volumio Integro. They where hardware related, so had to wait on a new device.
With this new device Youtube2 and Cast receiver arenāt working. Seems like youtube has changed someting on their side again. Itās giving 400 status codes
@balbuze I think @patrickkfkan is really busy. Since he has so many plugins to maintain.
I saw that all the youtube related plugins are broke now. I see it with Youtube2 and Youtube Cast Receiver.
However I just saw at GitHub that for Bookworm there are updates for the apps (Git), but that these updates are not showing on the general plugin repo: Link
Is this maybe something you can manage? Or arenāt these compatible with each other?
Would love to be able to install these and have them working again on my Integro.
Edit: Just tried to manually install the newest version. Unfortunately this isnāt possible:
Plugin failed the dependency check Node version 14.21.3 not usable with plugin. The plugin cannot be installed on this version o f Volumio.
Is there anyway to upgrade the Integro to Bookworm or to port these apps? It seems like the bookworm repo is way more up-to-date.
All of my plugins have been updated in the Bookworm repo. The YouTube-related plugins are working for me - at least for now - but more testing is definitely required.
I do not plan on porting the plugins back to current Buster-based Volumio. You would have to wait for the availability of Bookworm-based Volumio for the Integro.
Hopefully this gets also a beta update like the other pluginsā¦
Updated v1.2.0 which fixes the playback issues.
Currently in beta channel, which you can install as follows:
- Uninstall current version.
- Enable āPlugins Test Modeā in
http://<volumio address>/dev - Find the YouTube Cast Receiver plugin in the plugin store. Click the Details button under it and choose latest beta version to install.
- Restart Volumio.
(All steps mandatory)

Hi.
I have built a speaker with Rasberry Pi and Innomaker Amp. But it almost never works, to Cast from YouTube Music.
I have Volumio 3.788, with YCR 1.2.0
What could I have done wrong, or what is it that I donāt understand?

I have the same issue: the YouTube and YouTube Music plugins throw Failed to decode, long URL, and an error with status 403 in the end. The YouTube Cast receiver just doesnāt work. Everything was working last week, but today does not work. Try changing cookies, relogin. Without success.
