Youtube2, Youtube music, and youtube cast - none of them working, it wont play YT videos on any version, tried uninstalling and reinstalling all available versions. Can somebody confirm the problem, or is the problem on my side? Thanks

Youtube Music has also stopped for me.

Updated YouTube2 / YouTube Music / YouTube Cast Receiver plugins to fix the playback issue caused by changes on YT side (again):

  • YouTube2: v1.2.1
  • YT Music: v1.1.2
  • YT Cast Receiver: v1.1.1

Plugins are currently in beta channel. To update:

  • Uninstall current version.
  • Enable “Plugins Test Mode” in http://<volumio address>/dev
  • In the plugin store, click the Details button under the plugin you want to install and choose latest beta version.
  • Restart Volumio.

(All steps mandatory)

When a new update is available, it is released for all compatible devices… But sometimes I may forget one…
I wait for @patrickkfkan instructions to release.

Updated v1.1.2, which fixes playback issue caused by YT changes.

Currently in beta channel, which you can install as follows:

  • Uninstall current version.

  • Find the YouTube Cast Receiver plugin in the plugin store. Click the Details button under it and choose latest beta version to install.
  • Restart Volumio.

I don’t know why, but it has stopped working. I’m using version 1.1.2 of the plugin and it worked for a few days and now it stops. I can connect to youtube but it doesn’t play anything and it stops working on my 3 Volumio units.

It is working for me. Did you try restarting the plugin (disable then re-enable it)? Otherwise, provide logs.

Could there be a new problem? This app doesn’t seem to work for me anymore. If I read the logs correctly it seems that the URL gives a http statuscode got HTTP status 403 in return (forbidden)

This happens after:

info: Ignoring MPD Status Update

Strangely, I’ve installed a new Volumio and I still can’t cast from Youtube. Volumio connects to the phone, but I can’t play from Youtube.

Stopped for me also…throws red error code when trying to play from YT. For all 3 plugins. Can somebody confirm? Why is this happening?

No one reacts, but the same problem here. It seems like that the problem is bigger that volumio and its team can solve. It is very annoying, that it doesnt work stable. Can anyone solve it, please?

Plugins are contributions from the community (read people like you). Stating that Volumio can’t solve it has no valid ground.
