Maybe see if setting custom DNS servers in Volumio → Network helps. Something like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google servers)

Sorry for the late answer, have been out for a while. I pinned pointed the problem to the Youtube music plugin (also from you, version 1.0.0). I disabled it and everything works fine now. Is there any way of having them both? I like to be able to search youtube music from the Volumio interface now and then. Thank you so much for the plugins btw, they really make Volumio much more versatile 
They should be able to co-exist peacefully… Could you confirm that Cast Receiver refuses to play even when YT Music was not playing anything at the time you connected?
Also try disabling Autoplay in YT Music plugin settings.
Hi, any plans to get this working not in test mode (as apparently supersearch doesn’t work then). I am finding myself loading up the old youtube and ytmusic plugins because they are more reliable. Just annoying have to search for through volumio.

What do you mean? This plugin does not have search functionality because you’re meant to do it on the YT mobile app or website.
I just thought the two couldn’t co-exist for some reason. ie. supersearch features don’t work if you are running the beta of volumio. Are you saying cast should work on ver 3.512?
Anyway it never really works properly anyway so isn’t worth the hassle.
I also recall you saying should remove the old plugins to use the new cast (but they werent even installed and wasn’t working from phone).

Cast works on v3.512.
How? There is indeed an issue with the plugin requiring a restart every now and then, otherwise commands don’t get received by the remote end. That’s why it’s still beta. Haven’t got around to resolving it yet.
You need to uninstall the old version of the same plugin before installing the new one.
Plugins test mode. It’s clearly stated in my instructions.

I didn’t look at github comments, only installing from the volumio interface.
So to summarise:
- I’m running v3.512 (in non-test mode)
- Enable plugins test mode in /dev (to see beta plugins). Does this setting stay on for normal use or only install?
- Uninstalled Youtube2 and TY Music (didn’t have them installed before but reinstalled for obvious reasons).
- Installed YouTube Cast Receiver 1.0.4
- Rebooted & enabled plugin.
- doesn’t work (says connected to volumio and the circle spins out).
(seem to have to toggle it a fair few times and also play/pause but no luck again now).

Edit: some vides work some don’t on Youtube, have to forward the vid a touch to get it going sometimes. YT music doesn’t work at all (which is why i reinstalled the old plugin :)).

I select volumio, the video freezes then the hourglass turns minutes without any changes on volumio.
The plugin installation looks ok.

There’s a plugin called YouTube Cast Receiver, which you can install via the Volumio plugins music services section. That should di what you’re looking for.
This is the pluggin i have installed, and as explained the cast does not work

OK so, I am on volumio 3 and have installed & set up the pluging YouTube Cast Receiver, then
