Thanks, I have submitted v1.0.7, which is now in beta channel. This version removes the mandatory OpenWeatherMap API key requirement and makes it optional.

To install from beta channel:

  • (optional) Backup current plugin settings.
  • Uninstall current version.
  • Restart Volumio.
  • Enable “plugins test mode” in http://<your volumio address>/dev.
  • Go to plugin store, under “Now Playing”, click the Details button.
  • Choose latest version to install.
  • (optional) Restore backed-up settings.

Ok, I’m confused.

Turned on Test mode etc.

After uninstall, I can see v1.0.7.
When I click “Details” all I see is a description of the plugin…no opportunity to select different versions.
I select “Install” and when complete, my plugin still shows v0.7.6

I must be doing something wrong.

What Volumio version are you on? To get the latest plugin you need to be on (Bookworm) 4.x

Looks to be buster.
Can I do an in place uprage to bookworm or do I need to do a fresh install?

Re imaged both my Raspberry Pis and they’re both up and running.

Too many different combinations and options…
Test modes of the app, test modea of plugins. Hard to ever know what combinations work but good when someone lists out the directions explicitly.

Wouldn’t bother with any YouTube or YouTube music.

My music data is also not displaying. I’ve looked through the thread and I know that I’m on the NowPlaying 0.7.6 version and I need to be on the 1.0.6 version to put in my own API, but for some reason, when I press “update plugin” It will stay on v0.7.6. When I completely uninstall the plugin, it shows the newest version is 1.0.7, but then when I try to install it again, it says it installs the new version, but when I check my installed plugins it will revert back to 0.7.6 Can I have help? My system version is 3.912, so I’m not sure why this is happening.

The newer versions of the NowPlaying do not work on v.3.xx. You need to update to V.4.xx.

How do I do that? When I try updating volumio it says I’m on the latest version.

Download V4 from Get Started - Volumio
You need to do a fresh install, you can’t upgrade via OTA from V3 to V4.

Hello, I installed the new Volumio 4x system on a Raspberry Pi 3B+ along with the Now Playing 1.7 plugin. In the plugin settings, I added the API key for OpenWeatherMap, but unfortunately, the weather information isn’t showing up on the display. What should I do to get the weather information to appear in the plugin?

You don’t need to provide an API key. You just need to provide the geographic coordinates of your location (under Localization).

In Version 1.1.0(test), “Sample Rate, Bit Depth…” when setting Allignment (Horisontal) = Center is actually aligned left.
