incredible plug-in.
Could you add option to filter by orientation for UnSplash?
ie landscape, portrait
it’s now part of their API
nevermind…I see Match Screen does that now.

i have install the last version of volumio (Rpi-4 / 4GB sd / 9inch display, and touch display
that work, now install Now Playing, gives an error.
please help
Post logs, we ran out of crystal balls, USB mind readers and guesses.
Just telling it “gives an error” is not very helpfull
Hi,
if I switch off Now Playing the albumart.png and jpg is okay, when I switch it on the old albumart is replaced by the new one. see pictures.
1 now playing switch off correct
2 now playing switch on fault
3 now playing switch on (preview) correct
Please correct your power supply, all your screenshots show under voltage (yellow lighting) .
This will make your installation unreliable and unrecoverable crashes.
Hi Wheaten,
This setup is just to see what happen i have the same problems with a good and separate powersupplys for the RPI and Waveshare display.
I feel, like I have tried every setting, from defualt to disabeling everything I can find to disable. I have tried clean installs, differnt raspberry pi’s, lower screen resolution but it is alway the same slugish gui. When using NOW PLAYING gui either the refreshrate drops or the whole system becomes slugish.
I have recorded two videos, one using now playing and the other using volumios gui.

NOW PLAYING GUI
VOLUMIO GUI
Is this possible to fix?
Do not use Glass theme. It’s likely to be slow on rPi since GPU acceleration is not enabled.
Glass is turned off, either on or off appears to have an effect on preformqnce for me.
Hi Patrick, the plugin is working for me without any bugs for quite a while now. One thing that is annoying with my setup (no touchscreen) is that I have to enable the playback buttons to see if I enabled the random or repeat function. Is it possible to include the option to seperatly enable those buttons since I donˋt need the play/pause and next/previous buttons in one of the future updates?
Best regards and thank you for this great plugin.
Sven
Seems like this plugin either consumes a crazy amount of system resources, even with minimal settings activated, or it messes with the framerate somehow.
Sadly this means I have to stop using the plugin.
I really think something else is messing up your performance.
Just did a install of Now Playing V0.7.5 on a rPi4 running V3.795.
But browsing is identical to Volumio’s Manifest UI.
That may be but I can not figure it out. I have tried seperate installations on different rbpi’s even with minimal plugins installed. Basically only spotify, touch display and now playing and still it slows down to a crawl.
Hi gurus, hope you are fine.
I can install both stable version of the „Now Playing“ plugin (0.75 and 0.73) but none of them seems to work?
If I call the „normal“ as well as the „preview“ URL at port 4004 the screen flickers and a rotating arrow is shown.
Is this „normal“ behaviour?
I can select the resolution drop-down in the top but nothing else.
I‘m on a raspi 5, newest FW/OS, NVME, HIFIBerry DAC2 pro, newest Volumio 3.795.
Just tried a reboot with installed plugin (which gave me five bad minutes because system did NOT come back. Hard reset with switching off, switching power off and switching power on again - at least reanimated the system and my Volumio is up again).
But reboot did not change situation. Same behaviour as in shown pictures.
Any hint/idea?
Thanks a LOT!
Regards,
Ralf
Any Idea?
No clue yet, as it works without problems here.
Please post a log
and the output of:

cat /boot/userconfig.txt
The Manyfest UI is working without issues?

Forgot this, dear @Wheaten : Manifest UI is working (using it all the time).
regards,
Ralf
Any thoughts why this is happening. I can’t duplicate this issue myself as it works perfect for me.
We have now a few similar reporting’s, where no issues are found using Manufest UI and sluggish/lagging response with this plugin.
@webdiddy
What is your output of:
cat /boot/config.txt
cat /boot/userconfig.txt
is it may useful to use one of the other UIs?
