No news yet, other than we still expect stretch as beta soon and expect it to be stable.
But, we will probably not release it, the reason is Debian buster.
Busterās final freeze is this month, expected to be released within the next 3-4 months.
Investing too much in stretch just does not make sense anymore, using it as a step towards buster does.
During the stretch beta, we will replace it with a buster alpha at a later stage.
yes, you will be able to boot from hdd/sdd, usb, emmc and nvme devices.
SD is also enabled, but I honestly donāt know whether there are x86 devices which allow you booting from it. Reading/ writing is fine.
Iāve added CONFIG_GPIO_SYSFS and recompiled with kernel 4.19.23.
Note: I will not test this but hope for your feedback when released.
A link will be posted when Iām ready to do release a new image.
Because of current buster issues (we have dropped stretch) and other tasks with higher priorities, this may take a while.
Please bear with us.
Unfortunately not, our backlog is too big at the moment, I just did not find any time for it yet.
We got stuck with an issue building our initramfs (worked with jessie and stretch, but not on buster), this will need time.
To avoid false hopes, no date will be given, but we still believe to have the first betaās out before the release of Debian buster.
Bump into a known issue I think.
Prepared an Intel NUC6CAYH with ssd and 8 Gig RAM.
Flashed a 16GB usb stick with etcher and the newest img (volumio-2.555-2019-02-18-x86.img) and booted from zero.
Monitor wakes up and shows the Volumio screen.
Below the tekst:
Unable to resolve UUID= (an ip adress??)
Unable to resolve UUID=2727-B553
something about built in shell
h: canāt access tty; job control turned off
Any thoughts?
Want to use a 1TB SSD to place all my music on and let everybody login this standalone Volumio version.
try with the version from the first post in this thread.
It is very likely that your hardware is not supported by the āofficialā released Volumio image.
This is why it is so important for us to get Debian buster and the new kernel working.
