Perhaps I missed a wifi module while upgrading to 4.19.y

Version 2.394 wifi work.

Hello!

I’ve installed the alpha on my NUC7i5BNH https://ark.intel.com/products/95067/Intel-NUC-Kit-NUC7i5BNH

  • Basic features seem to work fine (wifi, install plugins, play streaming music over HDMI from internet)

  • I changed the .env and plugged in a USB stick, it showed in df -h.

  • with HDMI audio playback, volume control appears to be non functional in ā€œhardwareā€ mixer mode. (Software mode seems fine.)

  • Analog Audio out, ā€œhardwareā€ mixer, volume control works fine.

@profd: i will compare, thanks!

Any news about betta ?
And wifi fix for lattepanda ?

No news yet, other than we still expect stretch as beta soon and expect it to be stable.
But, we will probably not release it, the reason is Debian buster.
Buster’s final freeze is this month, expected to be released within the next 3-4 months.
Investing too much in stretch just does not make sense anymore, using it as a step towards buster does.
During the stretch beta, we will replace it with a buster alpha at a later stage.

Yes the selection was missing, RTL8723BS support will return in the next version.

It is posible build version - support emmc boot an wifi RTL8723BS ?

yes, you will be able to boot from hdd/sdd, usb, emmc and nvme devices.
SD is also enabled, but I honestly don’t know whether there are x86 devices which allow you booting from it. Reading/ writing is fine.

Device lattepanda
Please give me the link to test version.
And please add this option to kernel CONFIG_GPIO_SYSFS=y

I’ve added CONFIG_GPIO_SYSFS and recompiled with kernel 4.19.23.
Note: I will not test this but hope for your feedback when released.

A link will be posted when I’m ready to do release a new image.
Because of current buster issues (we have dropped stretch) and other tasks with higher priorities, this may take a while.
Please bear with us.

Any news about new image ?

Excellent answer by swinokur. Thanks for such a good features. The answer was helpful for me. Thank you so much!

Unfortunately not, our backlog is too big at the moment, I just did not find any time for it yet.
We got stuck with an issue building our initramfs (worked with jessie and stretch, but not on buster), this will need time.
To avoid false hopes, no date will be given, but we still believe to have the first beta’s out before the release of Debian buster.

Hi All,

Bump into a known issue I think.
Prepared an Intel NUC6CAYH with ssd and 8 Gig RAM.
Flashed a 16GB usb stick with etcher and the newest img (volumio-2.555-2019-02-18-x86.img) and booted from zero.
Monitor wakes up and shows the Volumio screen.
Below the tekst:
Unable to resolve UUID= (an ip adress??)
Unable to resolve UUID=2727-B553
something about built in shell
h: can’t access tty; job control turned off

Any thoughts?

Want to use a 1TB SSD to place all my music on and let everybody login this standalone Volumio version.

Thanks for your time!

try with the version from the first post in this thread.
It is very likely that your hardware is not supported by the ā€žofficialā€œ released Volumio image.
This is why it is so important for us to get Debian buster and the new kernel working.

Link in first post is DEAD !!

VOLUMIO x86 (volumio-2.565-2019-03-12-x86.img) is extremly slow on ASRock J3455
