yeah already selected basic, as I refuse to pay 21,99 for ogg files. Unfortunately the family are all into Spotify so I am a bit forces to pay for it. Just as comparison Tidal family cost 16.99, so did Spotify bump it’s head???
We share a similar family resistance to change I think. Good to know Basic works, thanks.
I finally got bored and fixed it myself. This is not a good fix and there is something else going on here that I don’t understand.
I added debugging code to /data/plugins/music_service/spop and discovered that when you send a ‘next’ rest call it seems to execute this.sendSpotifyLocalApiCommandWithPayload even though this.sendSpotifyLocalApiCommand is called! Very odd. I worked around it by changing line 503 from
this.sendSpotifyLocalApiCommand(‘/player/next’);
to
this.sendSpotifyLocalApiCommandWithPayload(‘/player/next’,‘{}’);
Seems to solve the issue
Has something recently happened in the Spotify world? I have two Volumio streamers in my home and I’ve had them for years. One has the latest Volumio and the other an older version of 3.x. I primarily use it to stream my Spotify account. I have a premium account.
I was on Spotify on my desktop earlier today and found some cool music but when I attempted to stream through volumio, it would not play in either machine. I logged out of all devices and then logged in, in Volumio and tried again but still no go. This hasn’t happened to me since the new Spotify Plugin was made available.
Anyone else having weird issues?
Cheers,
Andrew
Hello,
You have to update the plugin to v4.2.2.
Due to change on Spotify side, previous version stopped to work.
Perfect! Thank you. I didn’t realize it had been updated but I am now in action.
Cheers,
Andrew
Good Afternoon!
Following an advice from @nerd, I re-post here in this thread:
Today in the morning my Volumio refuses to play any song.
I’m on beta 4.021, Pi5.
Volume can be adjusted, skip song works partly, playing any sound doesn’t work.
All findings in my one and only use-case: Playing a queue in Spotify-Plugin.
Any Idea?
Logfile is here.
Thanks for any hint.
Warm regards,
Ralf
Hello @rkorell, that is a known issues with the go-librespot plugin, feature updates should fix this. For now, toggling the plugin enabled status or rebooting the device should fix it.
OK, thanks.
Is there an ETA for this feature update?
Warm regards,
Ralf
Hi ,i have installed spotify app on my phone and enable plugin in Volumio app. On my screen it appears to be playing, but i am not getting any audio on my speakers.
Otherwise i am able to play audio from local NAS which I have setup as source in volumio.

Are there any plans to include support for Spotify Lossless in the standard plugin, a feature that Spotify are now ( finally ) rolling out ?
thanks
Alastair
yes, but as spotify flac is not avaiblable in Italy yet, you will need to wait for their confirmation to start working on it. Please read the various topics, there are a few already scattered over the forum (pity people sometimes do not update themselves first before adding another topic)
Hello all
Spotify just released going lossless for all premium account holders. It is rolled out in stages in deferent countries.
I also got a notification about it being available to me very soon.
I hope we can get a compatible plugin soon
KK from Sweden
Yes, I’m also very curious about that. Lossless is now unlocked in my account, and I can’t wait to have it available in Volumio. Any news about this?
Thanks, Roonan.
Hello, I agree with the question. In the Czech Republic, Lossless is already active. Do you have information when it will be made available on Volumio? I am a proud user.
+1 on this. I don’t think lossless is live in the UK yet, but when it is, I’d VERY much like volumio support for it. Is it planned ? Could Volumio provide an update please?
Answer from Marco at Volumio:
Is not available in Italy yet - we are going to work on this integration as soon as its released
I know you can ask for it in Spotify forums
Are there any plans to add standard support for more than 50 playlists?
After all this time I still have to rewrite getmyplaylists in the plugin to get all my playlists listed ( see previous post:
