Make Volumio accessible from the Windows 11 Home File Explorer

Hello,

My setup:
Volumio Free 3.874 on a Raspberry Pi 3B+
Asus PC with Windows 11 Home.

My question is simple: with my old PC running Windows 7 Home,
Volumio appeared in File Explorer/Network as a simple drive where I could add, listen to, or remove music directly without having to unplug my USB drive from the Raspberry Pi.
In Windows 11 Home, in File Explorer/Network, by clicking on “Other devices” → “Volumio”, I access the Volumio web page directly, not the internal storage.

I tried to map a network drive in “This PC” and in “Network” by entering \Volumio\Internal Storage in the folder window, but I get an error: error 0x80070043.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Regards,
Tyty

Solution:

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I’m not very tech-savvy,

and I don’t want to compromise Windows security.

I’ll look online for the advantages and disadvantages of
disabling the “Microsoft Network Client: Digitally sign communications (always)” policy.

Thank you.

Sincerely

Hello,
While continuing my research on the Group Policy Editor, I’ve just discovered that Windows 11 Home doesn’t have one.

There are ways to work around the problem by modifying registry keys, but I’m not skilled enough to try that without risking damage to my PC.

Tyty
