Can anyone help? Im having issues installing Volumio to an SSD. I have burnt the image to USB using both etcher and rufus (I have tried both to see if theyd make a difference) and then used the “install to disk” function in the settings. Each time I have tried this it tells me to restart and take out the USB. Each time I then start the machine Im told there is no bootable device. I have even tried mounting the image direct to the SSD with etcher but again, when I reboot Im told there is no bootable drive. Can Someone please help???
Installing to a USB drive is now working reliably in the standard release. Please check that you’ve followed the steps in the user guide correctly. For example, flashing with Etcher is not in the instructions.
Thank you for your reply. I tried again using Raspberry Pi imager and the instructions that were provided and have had the same issue. I believe I am doing it correctly (sorry bit of a noob here). On the imager, for “raspberry pi device” I am picking “no filtering” as Im installing on a PC not a Pi. For the “operating system” Im scrolling down to “use custom” (I looked for “customizing image” as the instructions stated but, that was all I could see that was like that so chose it) and picked my image.
Was this the correct way??
I did download the image from the Volumio homepage. I selected it when prompted after choosing “custom” in the drop down menu. Volumio does run when I boot it from USB but, when I go to install it to my SSD through the settings, it says it has succesfully installed to drive and that i should restart and remove USB. When I do this my pc says there is no bootable drive to load from.
Yes, that was the page I downloaded it from. I even just downloaded it again and tried afresh but still no joy. Is that page just for 32bit systems as mine is 64??
