Allo digi one hat on pie3 b 2015 crashing issue

I have been using RP3b with a Allo Digi One Hat for more than 2 years now no problems streaming from my NAS. I had switched from the pie to use a pre-amp to load vinyls but left my pie operational so I could swap back to listen to my rips. Having not used it for a couple of weeks I was sat looking at the light operation on i to check it was OK and realized that it was blinking irregular to normal so investigated to discover an up date had crashed or so I thought. I refreshed the sd card by going to the volumio d/load and flashed it over put it in and it worked briefly then crashed after several tries I began to look at the pie maybe it has issues so I dug out my pie 1 and got the updated version for that and flashed it to a different card and because it was in it’s own case I fired it up without the allo hat and it worked so I set up the pie 1 with the allo digi hat and that crashed as soon as I fired it up so the hat had no issues before this new latest update is it a compatability issue or has the update killed my hat. I have an old rip off volumio if I can find it i will try that to see. So I am asking is it me missing something or is there a software clash with the hat.

Just an update the pie1 eventually crashed in my absence the red and green lights were active but I couldn’t log on or reach it’s site, going to try the pie 3b without the Allo Digi One Dac tomorrow so it’s looking like it’s a software issue rather than a device.

If it helps identify the issue I have been running a raspberry Pi 3b with an Allo Digi One (with Volumio 3.785 currently) for six months continuously. During that time it has survived three power outages with no adverse effects.
I assume that you are using the Raspberry Pi 2 (B?) with an ethernet connection as it does not have wifi capability withou adding a wifi dongle.
It might be worth checking to see if the IP address hasn’t changed randomly.

thank you for your input,Yes i am using a wired ethernet connection on the pies. to which brought to my attention i entered the wrong pie models mixed them up with my brothers,I have a Pie 1vers: 1.2 2014 and A Pie3 model B 2015. I have a good internet connection and I call up the home page on the router and it shows the ip address of the pie when it’s working, then when I lost connection it disappeared from the router list and hasn’t come back. I have tried pie 1 vers: 1.2 and 3b with their appropriate d/load of volumio and the pie1 vers:1.2 crashed eventually and I am going to load the pie3b now to see how that plays out.

Hey @Jeffery,

Please be specific about your Raspberry Pi SCs. I don’t think this will help right-away, however there may be a pattern across specific version.

Kind Regards,

Thanks will check this and post tomorrow. with an update.
