I swear I have looked everywhere on this forum and on the internet to find a solution to this BEFORE posting here, I have changed settings and tinkered around for almost a week and still no joy. Hoping someone here can help.
I recently moved house and got my Volumio setup back up and running after almost 2 years in storage. I have a Pi model B with an original Hifiberry DAC and a half decent interconnect which I run through an old Audiolab amp and some Mission speakers. Nothing fancy but it sounds half decent for a bunch of bits from ebay which cost not a lot. Before this lot went into storage, I was running the system with an old USB HDD connected directly to the Pi and that worked fine with Volumio 1.55. The USB HDD unfortunately died so I had to re-rip everything in Apple lossless on to my NAS which was a considerable effort but seemed like it was worth it as I knew volumio could just connect to the network location and that would make my music player even more simple and elegant.
So, we moved house and I eagerly got the Hi-fi out and upgraded Volumio to the latest version and set about getting it set up. It is all absolutely great except I can’t get volumio to add the folder where all my music is on my NAS. The NAS is a Buffalo Linkstation 420 with 2 x 3TB disks in it, set up in a RAID 1 as it also contains backups and photos etc. It’s connected directly to the main router (a Huawei something or other which came from our ADSL broadband supplier) by ethernet and every device on the network can access it no problem. In-fact, even volumio sees the NAS fine and can see the top level folder structure in the ‘add drives’ wizard. See first picture.
I try to set the NAS location up using the settings in the second picture.
Bit it always gives me the error in the third picture.
I have tried; using cifs and nfs, using a login for the NAS, not using a login, using the admin account, using a new account, using no login at all (access control is disabled anyway), using the NAS name as it is found by the wizard, using the local IP of the NAS, mapping the root of the NAS, mapping a tp level folder, using forward and back slashes in the ‘path’ dialogue - every combination of options I can think of.
I have been through the NAS settings dialogue (and now I know much better how to configure it) and changed anything which I think could be causing the problem. All to no avail. Please can someone give me some advice? I would really loke to use my NAS to stream my music to Volumio… If I can’t get it working, I will just have to go out and buy a big USB stick…
