I try to read MP3 files from an USB card plugged in my Raspberry Pi with my smartphone via WI-FI but without any internet connexion. I would like to know if it is possible to do that with volumio

of course you don’t need internet to use volumio, but you need at least a local network with your devices on it (your volumio device -wifi or ethernet and your smartphone -wifi).
To reach volumio, you have to enter its ip adress in your browser (192.168.0.2) or something like that or from a PC you can reach it by entering volumio.local

In my side, I put a USB WIFI dongle ; and the Raspberry with Volumio works as Access Point.
So My Phone connect itself to the Raspberry and command it ; I don’t use other network.
Connect wifi but not on Internet with many reason. Best processing processing, restart the modem device or device and access.
