Which external CD/DVD drive for Rivo?

I tried using an ASUS SBC-06D2X-U externel BluRay Drive to Rivo, but the power delivered from Rivo’s USB port seemed insufficient to start up the drive. The drive would spin up / down / up / down endlessly.
What external CD/DVD drive is recommended for use with Rivo that has either

  • sufficiently low power requirements to directly connect to Rivo
  • an external power supply

those models have been tested successfully with Rivo

Hitachi-LG GP57EW40
Hitachi-LG GP60

please make sure you use the USB port close to the Ethernet port, it is the one able to deliver up to 900mA of current

I tried the ASUS SBC-06D2X-U on the USB port next to the Ethernet port. 900mA still does not seem to be sufficient. Same spin up/down.
I will test another (non bluray) drive later on a know to work USB2 port and then on the Rivo and come back with the result.

LG GP60 worked, but is showing loud spinning. As premium customer, I have raised a support case and sent a video that shows the behaviour.
