Hi,
I just upgraded to Windows 11 and I seem to have lost ability to connect with a browser to volumio.local. Is this a known issue, and if yes, is there a cure?
Thanks!
use instead the ip of your pi
http://< your ip >
As dvo said, but you can (or should be able to use) http://volumio.local
I use firefox, which doesn’t need the http://, but chrome just tried to google volumio.local if I don’t use the http:// prefix
Strange.
Anyway, what will certainly solve it is installing iTunes (it will install mdns resolver on windows)
Let us know if that does the trick
@volumio: I’d rather just install the missing component. Can you please direct me to where I can grab it and download/install it?
Thank you.
Has this been resolved? I have been able to access volumio via Chrome under Windows 11 recently, until the latest update. After the latest Windows 11 update, I’ve suddenly lost the ability to access Volmio via the brower, and yes, I’ve tried http://[IP address] to no avail. I can still access Volmio on my phone, so the problem is definitely not on the Raspberry Pi side.
Not sure if this is a Windows11 issue.
Tested with (latest update done today):
Edition | Windows 11 Pro |
---|---|
Version | 21H2 |
Installed on | 21/04/2022 |
OS build | 22000.1042 |
Experience | Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.1042.0 |
Just tried with both Chrome and Edge and both work without issues.
Make sure you take the correct playername, in case you named it different then volumio.
You need to include http://<playername>.local
Same result here, no problems with either Chrome or Edge.
I did update to 22H2 earlier today so on the latest version.
Edition | Windows 11 Home |
---|---|
Version | 22H2 |
Installed on | 2022-10-05 |
OS build | 22621.521 |
Experience | Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22634.1000.0 |
It should have nothing to do with Windows 11 or the browser, as the router (or WiFi access point if it is separate) should have that address translation. What happens if you open a command windows and type ping volumio.local? It should give you the IP address of the device if the ping works.
