Volumio’s Journey and the Birth of CORRD

Volumio began with a simple mission: to enjoy music at the highest possible quality. Back then, streaming wasn’t even a thing—music was all about files and libraries. Over time, with the incredible support of our community, Volumio grew into something more: a unified place to enjoy all your music. Together, we tackled the fragmented digital landscape and created a coherent, high-quality music experience.

But now, it’s time for the next chapter. After pushing Volumio’s current architecture to its limits, we realized it was time for an overhaul—something bold and ambitious. Why limit music enjoyment to just your home? Why not create something you can take anywhere, something that adapts to your lifestyle?

That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce CORRD, a fresh evolution of Volumio designed to bring music to every corner of your life.

What is CORRD?

  • A Unified Music Hub: CORRD seamlessly combines your streaming services, music libraries, and discovery tools into one app.
  • Your Personalized Music Assistant: It curates music flows tailored to your activities and helps you discover new tracks effortlessly.
  • Versatile and Future-Ready: CORRD integrates with smart TVs, cars, voice assistants, and more, adapting to wherever life takes you.

CORRD takes the values you love about Volumio—freedom, customizability, and an obsession with quality—and evolves them into a mobile-first, platform-agnostic experience. It’s not just another app; it’s a tool for music lovers who want convenience without compromise.

What you see today is just the beginning—a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) built to grow with your feedback. CORRD is deeply connected to Volumio, and with your help, we’ll continue to refine and evolve both platforms to redefine music listening for everyone, everywhere.

Join Us in Shaping the Future of Music!
We’re inviting our beloved Volumio community to be the first to try CORRD through a private beta. Your insights have always driven our innovation, and we need your feedback now more than ever.

Here’s how to get started:
:one: Enroll in the Private Beta: Head to CORRD’s website to download the app and start exploring.
:two: **Share Your Feedback:** Join our Discord community to tell us what you think and help us shape the future of music.

This is your chance to be part of something transformative. Together, we’ll make music more accessible, personal, and meaningful—anytime, anywhere.

Since CORRD is in it’s early stages, we are initially limiting access to this beta test to 100 total participants.

The features that are available as of today are:

  • 10 flows to choose from
  • Integration with TIDAL and Spotify

What is coming next:

  • Ability to tune the flow to fit your tastes
  • Ability to save your flows
  • Start a flow with voice

We will also integrate new streaming services as we go, depending on demand. So, let us know which music service you want to see integrated next!

We are looking forward to receive your honest feedbacks about:

  • Stability\performance issues
  • If you find value in it
  • How you like it, what would you like to see as next feature
  • Any comment you might have

We kept CORRD a very basic POC in order to shape together the roadmap, so your feedback is extremely valuable!

Let us know your thoughts and join the journey!

it would be nice if there was a way to save the songs that you like from the flow in an easy way so you dont have to manually open another app and search for them and pause the flow, kind of beats the point

@Pseudonym031 I absolutely agree with you. I also find myself having to do screenshots to save my newly discovered tracks. It’s coming.

Keep the feedbacks coming!

Hi - is it just for streaming services, or will it be possible to connect to your Volumio server as a source also?

Could you tell us more about this use case? What would be the benefits for you? Adding also your files library?

Good evening,
Just joined the trial - impressive.
What I‘m surprised about that it not possible to connect CORRD to my Volumio…
Will this come?
When  ?
Warm regards,
Ralf

Yesterday the CORRD app seems to be released finally…
(At least I got an email stating this  ).

Are there any plans to integrate this “feed” to volumio - or is it even available already and I’ve missed?

Thanks & warm regards,
Ralf

Yes, it’s on the roadmap

How are you liking it so far?

Awesome - I really like it.
But hearing music on my mobile is (unfortunately) not my use-case.
So I would REALLY appreciate to get this done on my Volumio.
With one (important) feature request: Creating favourites from the Queue… there are MANY songs I never would find or even consider to search - I would love to get them all together on a (growing  ) playlist…
Thanks for this great idea!

Warmest regards,
Ralf

Sorry but another long time Volumio user wondering why I need CORRD. I mostly listen to music through a vintage amplifier and floor standing speakers - It’s not very portable. There are endless streaming apps on the app stores already, all vieing for space on my smart device. Why should I download CORRD. I’ve read the CORRD web page and am none the wiser.

My take on Corrd:

  • It will help you discover new music, which you haven’t heard before, but still tailored to your preferences.
  • Depending on your mood or activity you can select a corresponding flow.
  • Qobuz, Tidal and Spotify combined in one app

How do I get this new music playing out of my stereo?

For CORRD to be useful I need to be subscribed to multiple streaming services and be dissatisfied with the music discovery and personal selection features those services already offer. Do I have that right?

Sounds a little niche.

Same way as you do it now with your phone.

Nope. Just need one.

You just need one streaming service and you are dissatisfied by the way such streaming service lets you discover new music.
I would have concentrated my efforts into making volumio a better app that, by the way, I am paying supposedly to have a decent AI search algorithm and a nice music discovery feature, neither of which are good now

What is that leaves you unsatisfied by the current search algo and music discovery on Volumio? What would be that makes it better for you?

Just an example: Supersearch of most famous harp concert by Handel. Result: no element.
Last album by Pink Floyd: result is no album, just songs
Songs by berliner philarmoniker: no element

@volumio

Will Chord finally let us sort or search on the Volumio playlists?

One of the great things that Volumio does is to allow you to integrate music from various music sources, including for example, Tidal, and Qobuz, and your own servers which is awesome. But if you have like 500 songs on the Volumio playlist you cannot search for a particular song or band on that playlist. Please Please Please develop this before we start doing all kinds of new stuff that does not solve basic problems…
