I have this problem lately. I usually play from NAS, but I also have this problem using DLNA streamer via BubbleUPnP. Playback starts, and more often now, playback stops. Next track starts with time going on, but no sound. I restart the song, but Volumio gets unresponsive. I have to restart Volumio. What is happening with the latest updates of Volumio? I did not have this problem before.
It plays one track, then on the next track, no sound. Time continues and when I try to skip a track, Volumio is unresponsive. Only solution is to restart Volumio from menu, then it works. This did not happen before with Volumio.
Which DNLA instance off Volumio do you use. xxxxx-UPnP/AV seems to work pretty stable.
I use Volumio app/browser window for playback. USB output from Raspberry Pi4 to Topping E30 DAC.
QNAP NAS samba share.
The please post a log.
You have the exact setup as I am using, only difference is that I use NFS instead of CIFS.
And the setup here runs very stable.
2 questions:
- Which rPi do you have?
- Connected Wireless or via cable?
Should I enable NFS v4 service share on QNAP instead? Is this faster and more stable?
You won’t notice speed improvements, it might be more stable. CIFS has a lot of overhead.
Problem is still persistent. I have sent a bug report. We need a new update of Volumio.
