Volumio Primo V2 + Topping E50 + L50 + LETSHUOER S12 Pro

I added the Topping E50 DAC and L50 headphone amp to my Volumio Primo V2 via USB to build a proper headphone setup, and I’m very impressed. Using the LETSHUOER S12 Pro balanced from the L50 (low gain), the sound is simply amazing.

The presentation is clean, powerful, and highly detailed, with a completely black background. Bass is tight and fast, mids are clear and natural, and treble is extended but smooth. The setup sounds effortless, with great separation and control, even on complex tracks.

As a complete headphone/IEM chain, this combo works extremely well and delivers a neutral, refined, and very enjoyable listening experience. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a serious headphone setup.

I’m running pi2AES via I2S to Topping D70s and then it can go straight to Topping A30pro or via tubes from gremlin tube-amp to some LetShuoers (or others) on my desktop rig. Good taste Wheaten!

As I received PM’s to share the used playlist.
(Not every songs will make you want to jump up and dance, but are chosen for specific means.)

  • Kate Bush, Running Up That Hill
Layering + mid clarity; the mix should feel stacked, not flat.
  • Dire Straits, Money for Nothing
Big macro-dynamics + separation; the jump from quiet to loud should hit hard.
  • Bob Marley & The Wailers, Could You Be Loved
Rhythm guitar skank + bass bounce; should feel propulsive and clean.
  • Michael Jackson, Billie Jean
Timing + bass line articulation; listen for that locked-in rhythm.
  • Kacey Musgraves, Slow Burn
Imaging + ambience; depth (not just left/right).
  • Tool, Schism
Complex rhythm + control; should keep it punchy without smearing.
  • Sade, No Ordinary Love
Silky vocals + deep lows; the chain should sound smooth, controlled, and spacious.
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snow (Hey Oh)
Speed + string articulation; should keep the guitar clean and separated.
  • Lady Antebellum, Need You Now
Vocal layering + sibilance check; should sound intimate, not sharp.
  • Fleetwood Mac, The Chain
Bass line grip + build-up; listen for tightness when it drops.
  • Chris Stapleton, Tennessee Whiskey
Vocal texture + guitar body; listen for natural grit without glare.
  • Billie Eilish, bad guy
Sub-bass control + slam; should thump tight, not bloated.
  • Bob Marley & The Wailers, Natural Mystic
Low-end warmth + atmosphere; listen for thick bass without mud.
  • Pink Floyd, Time
Transient attacks + soundstage; the intro clocks should feel positioned in space.
  • Zac Brown Band, Colder Weather
Wide, clean staging; harmonies should stay separated in the chorus.
  • The Weeknd, Blinding Lights
Bright synth energy; should stay exciting without getting piercing.
  • Eagles, Hotel California (Live / Hell Freezes Over)
Stage width + instrument placement; percussion should be crisp, not splashy.
  • Dua Lipa, Don’t Start Now
Groove + bass definition; kick and bass should be distinct, not merged.
  • Tyler Childers, Feathered Indians
    Micro-dynamics + vocal presence.
  • Damian Marley, Welcome to Jamrock

I misread Sade for Slade. Choked on my coffee when I got to ‘Silky vocals’

Yeah what just one letter can do

In the language Polish it’s even funnier

Some people don’t write Polish diacritics and end up with phrases like - Ł or L:

Do it for me Laske or Łaske

Łaska (mercy - grace)
Laska (babe - blowjob - fellatio )

So after Laska, you can always say Łaska :joy:

But yes you need to be carefull.
