Volumio Primo - No Sound

Oftentimes I get a popup message - “Congratulations, player successfully restarted”, and no sound. I have to spend considerable amount of time restarting and rebooting it; sometimes it does work, sometimes it does not. Why is this happening?

Hello,
to investigate this issue further, we would need more details.
Could you please provide additional information and include a screenshot of the Playback Option Menu page?

You can contact us directly at support@volumio.com, and our team will be happy to assist you in resolving this problem.

Thanks

I am somewhat surprised I am the only one experiencing it. It seems the sound does not start when NAS is at sleep and I start playing (the very next day) the same album as I played before (still showing in memory). Sometimes restarting Volumio helps, sometimes I have to turn it off and wait few seconds before turning it on again. Sometimes I have to do it several times over. NAS must be fully awake by then.

When this happens, radio (or any other input for that matter) does not produce any sound either. Basically the slider is advancing, showing time and all, everything looks normal, but no sound to the amplifier.

If this is a software (initialization) problem, can I just ssh into the box and start something manually?

Thanks in advance,

So always try to avoid starting play from the previous showing in browser session when streaming from the NAS. Always start from the “Home” icon and work your way down to the selection you want to be played. That will initialize NAS (spin the hard-drives and make it ready) to serve. Else, it appears to be offsetting something in the player software that cuts the sound off from the playback. The slider moves, all images are showing, but no sound in the output. It does sounds iffy-funny as I read this, but that is how it is in my setup.
